I'd like a woman who's had multiple partners before, but isn't sex obsessed, isn't afraid of being loved/falling in love, and has no belligerent sexual tension with the PC; they just get along, share interest, enjoy each other's company, and have a mutual attraction for one another.
What kind of LI would you like to see in the next game?

Straight female LI:
Magister, unapologetic Morrigan type power lady, knows the ways of the world. And she knows what she wants, and she wants the pc. Because spice.
Elven mage, a apprentice to a Magister. Someone climbing the social ladders of Tevinter. To show a different kind of Tevinter supporter.
Vashoth warrior/rogue/mage in the service of the Imperium. Outside stoic, inside gentle and loving. Because opposite to the general view how qunari/Tal-vashoth are being seen.
A dwarven warrior/rogue/what ever. A member of the dwarven Ambassadoria, knows the ways of the Imperium. Because finally a dwarven view on the romance.

Without the hallucinations and desire to pluck my eyelashes and keep them in a jar.
Hey, that was cute.
Also, Sera mostly fits this; she's kind of afraid of love at one point, but only because she's afraid you'll die, and she gets over it in one conversation. Josephine, too, would count if she's not a virgin; her status there isn't exactly made clear.

I have other issues with Sera. Like I said a page or two ago, that woman hit age 12 and just slammed on the breaks. And Josephine, even if she isn't a virgin - which I'm pretty sure she is - is just too innocent.

If he is - which is a big if - that still leaves the problem of her wanting to pluck my eye lashes and keep them in a jar, which I do not find cute.

Honestly? A same-sex romanceable female companion who isn't a so-called "lipstick lesbian" human. Apart from how rare it is to have a romanceable female companion who's not human (Merrill and Sera are the only non-human female LIs to date, and they're both elves), it's even rarer for a same-sex romanceable female companion who doesn't have a soft/feminine/girly streak a mile wide, like Leliana, Liara, Merrill, Josephine, etc. I want the hardasses like Morrigan, Jack, and Cassandra. For once, I want a romanceable female companion who's not gentler/girlier than me.
This sums up my feelings perfectly. I would also add that the cherry on top for me would be if they were the ones to actively express interest in my character instead of me being the one trying to woo them.

Dwarf! Male or female. (It's time, BioWare. You held back Sigrun, Varric and Harding, but the fans have spoken. We're ready for some dwarf loving.)
Qunari female. (Apart from the novelty of even having a female qunari character in-game, I'm with Sera. Woof.)
An elf who doesn't hate elven culture, thankyouverymuch.
(Of the five romanceable elven companions we've had so far - Zevran, Fenris, Merrill, Sera, and Solas - only Merrill didn't turn up her nose at the elven community or culture.)

I'm not into corrupting innocents. I want a woman who's the same kind of bad as me right from the start.

Add a setting to make all NPC (party and advisor type) either all straight, all homosexual, all bisexual, or random (default) that way each can play it how we like. Yes I know that's a lot more dialog that has to be done but, it's the only way I see to please everyone. Also make sure there is one of each gender of each race available for romance.

The Guardian of the Urn of Sacred Ashes. He could just have been pressing her, but he seemed to know about everyone else's past.

That sounds ridiculous. Why not just make them "player-sexual" then? I admit I'm mixed, in a way. On the one hand, I want them to just write good characters and I don't mind them deciding character X is straight and character Y is gay. I won't go to the forums whining that my favorite female character was not interested in men. On the other hand, this idea could make a hilarious playthrough where my male PC was hit on by all the males while the females show no interest. I'm reminded of a commercial I saw for Spin City where Michael J. Fox entered a room and yelled "I drive gay men wild!"

Ideally, a mage character with absolutely no ulterior motives that can lead them to betray me at some point.
How about Maevaris? Her agenda is pretty clear and benign, I don't think she has anything to betray the hero over (please, please, please don't make Mae turn on me I will cry). And she's a widow, but definitely not suffering from Dead Husband Syndrome - last time we saw her, she was well resolved with her husband's death enough that even seeing him in the Fade was amusing to her, rather than all tragic.

They've said that they're not going to add a sexuality toggle, and that goes against their track record for this entire issue. The ONLY reason the followers were able to be romanced by both genders in DA2 was because they only had four options and limited resources. With DAI they had more resources, more potential followers, and more time, so we got set sexuality.
I very highly doubt that this will ever happen.

If they make a transwoman a romance option I would be totally blown away. But... I don't know if they would actually do that. It would take some massive balls and a willingness to take the risk on the part of the devs and management; Mike Laidlaw and Mark Darrah. I think Patrick Weekes would certainly be willing to do that, and I wouldn't be surprised if he thought of it while grinning and thinking of all the people who complained about Krem in DAI.
Lol... as her dead husband was a dwarf, it would be somewhat amusing if she were to be race and gender gated to male dwarves. I wonder how many players would make one just to romance her. I've no interest in playing a dwarf, and I typically romance men regardless of my own PC's gender, but it would certainly be tempting.
[edit]
Now that I think about it further, I don't think they would do this either. It has a chance to backfire really badly and violently. Granted, Maevaris is a known character, but not every player reads the ancillary materials or frequents the forums, so there is a high chance that many would not even know she's trans until she tells them in the game after flirting and whatnot. And then of course the devs would have to actually write out that scene, including player dialogue. I don't know... I just don't see it ending well.

Just give me a real woman like Morrigan or Cass and I'm happy. Kudos if it's something we haven't gotten yet like Scout Harding. I'm glad they gave us a woman like Cass that isn't your typical protag LI, and for those who prefer typical, they still get Jossie as an option. Good strategy in my opinion. Keep that up.

Heterosexual, dark-haired, rude to those they consider inferior? They don't have that many characteristics in common.
