So I'm rp-ing a pro-templar anti-mage playthough of the entire trilogy, on nightmare difficulty, pure vanilla Origins and DAII, then full dlc Inquisition.

I'm about to dive into the Landsmeet and give up on trying to beat Gaxkang, but I thought I'd ask on here to see if anyone has pulled it off without a mage in the party.

I've played most of the game with 4 warriors, with char a templar/reaver/dw/archer, but I have Zevran handy if needs be.

Of note - sten/oghren/zev can use poisons but alistair and char cannot (specced traps and coercion) and this prevents me from using magebane/momentum. Since i had to spec Zevran for locks (as leliana left over urn), he's not all that effective as a dw, plus he'd get mangled up front.

kind of a screwed position to be in for the fight, and it's no biggie if i skip it, i'm not trying to do everything by any means, just thought i'd ask.

Don't touch him he is my best friend, the holy Gaxkang, humble servant of the formless one,,he even warn the Warden that someone is looking at him from a place that is very high.... (basically he refer as you as the player)
Anyway use the forbidden technique called mana clash ( last spirit school skill for mages, which is basically the most powerful attack of the game used to kill every creature that use mana, aside from pride demon )you can use Wynne 3-4 hit and he is dead

maybe I should make it clearer - i'm not using any mages in this playthrough - wynne is dead, morrigan was sent back home to her mother at lothering.

Templar talents should do the trick.  I've done a variety of playthroughs without a mage in the party.  Oh, poisoned blades with a poison that does spirit damage.
