Who? Can't have been that impressive.
Melissan from Throne of Bhaal expansion to Baldur's Gate 2.
In all seriousness the BG2 (and Throne of Bhaal) characters and kind of the general thematic thrusts were really the predecessors to DA2. Or rather, DA2 was the spiritual successor to those parts of those games. In retrospect, I could never really understand why people were so excited about the DA2 sarcastic options and stuff like that probably because BG2 and ToB did them (and the overall power fantasy thing) much better.
Many people of course never played those games, Now it all makes sense!
I also found this image from these forums no less..
It’s funny how femHawke and Melly are basically clones actually in this picture comparison.

How about that..
Ahem! So, character wise, she is essentially extremely obsessive and highly devoted priest of Bhaal, she seeks to control everyone and everything, but it also happens to evade her grasp precisely for that reason. It is an ambition which exceeds the boundaries of reality, and instead leads to a kind of counter whiplash experience where the control explodes into this taught over-reaction of sudden and highly chaotic displays of emotional tempestuousness, and paradoxically leads to a state not of control but utmost submission to the overbearing reality as the fantastical dream of total control fades away.
It's a somewhat strange idea that has pervaded in many of these Bioware characters in games, for example perhaps DA2 Anders, like someone who, in inhaling and demonstrating the strength of their lungs nearly forgets to breathe, and so you have this paradox of a person with strong lungs who is very frequently out of breath. I want to say, breathe, you will be ok!
But, she, at any rate, as this thread has been discussing more directly, was certainly female. ![=]](https://lvlt.forum.bioware.com/public/style_emoticons/default/sideways.png)
