So you don't actually care about the lore ?

 

The lore on thermal clips is nonsensical and even BioWare points that out.

Given that BioWare gave weapons "magazine sizes" in ME3 strongly suggests that they think of them as bullets too.

 

Otherwise it would be something like "heat sink capacity" - how many shots a gun can fire before a thermal clip is at maximum heat.

 

If heat was the real problem, there could have been simpler solutions than a discardable clip anyway... like the Rheinmetall RMG 7.62, a three-barrel machinegun currently in development. The barrels do not rotate like a minigun's, the gun's electronics simply switches to the next barrel when the current one is getting hot, letting two barrels cool down while one keeps firing.

Yes i care about the lore but not when it keeps changing just to satisfy changes.
