I want to play a Quarian in a Quarian centered story -- sure. Love to see game mechanics around their immunity problems and also interest around the geth issue. I don't want to play Quarian skinned generic hero # 6.

Problem is they don't have to make human centered story and if they will do it again it will be lame. #QuarianLivesMatter

Speaking for myself, I know I'm tired of playing as a Human in the ME universe. It's the most boring race in the setting. I know humans, I've played them a million times...and if a scifi or fantasy game doesn't do anything interesting with them (and ME didn't do that...except for making them the Mary Sue race of the galaxy), I'm not too keen on them by default. I was annoyed at how much the writers favored this one boring race over all the others. Humans already took the spotlight in the first three games because of Shepard being the protagonist and basically space jesus. And now it seems we get the same nonsense again in Andromeda (and the leaks seem to confirm this). That's why I'd have prefered a 'blank' character like the inquisitor with race selection where I can fill the gaps via headcanon...and not another boring "Mass Effect human".

Dude thank you for saying that!!!! They've already done human with the trilogy, instead they stick to the same **** that's already over and done with. I say why not play different people? And if we're playing human (ugh again) at LEAST give us backgrounds to choose from and play those stories before making to the big part of the game. Repetition gets to be very tiring if you ask me. Ah BioWare.........

Playable races? Sure I don't mind a Mako gran prix champioship and a rally tournament out in the dunes.
It's really a great thread OP for a minute I was worried you would ask for playable aliens......that would be a waste of resources thay end in a shallow plot. But we are not speaking about that. So yeah looking forward for Mako races in MEA.

That's like a niche of a niche.

The DA stats show that most players play as human pc even when presented with a race selection.
Out of the few that would play Quarian, probably even fewer would be interested in a game about getting the flu.

Then playing a Quarian is pointless. That is saying you want generic hero #6.

Why is human centric bad? Human centric, or really <insert race name here> centric, is better than the pick a race and we will ram you through exactly the same story in the same way. Depth > breadth.

Trust me it IS going to be lame for making this game entirely centered on a human and about humanity. They've done that before with DA: Origins when it comes of playing different races. Why they keep on doing repetition is what really raise my suspicion and this game us a big franchise for many stories and adventures like the Elder Scrolls series. I find all this odd that BioWare are the only ones who stays the same on evey game they make, and not branching out different stuff like other devs do.

No I prefer #7 personally...

You are missing the point. True, I have no interest in playing a Quarian, but that was not my point.

My point was that what you wanted will simply never work as the main theme of a ME game.

The best you can hope for is that a future ME game that will have race selection, will include some dialogue lines about suit problems for a Quarian.

@Phantom

It's an issue of supply, demand, and investment.

Because Bioware has data that says that most people choose most of the time to play humans in their games even when provided with a choice,

they simply made adding more races to the game a lower priority.

Also, allowing for multiple races in turn requires more race specific reactions in dialogue, more cutscenes that need to be adjusted, etc.

Personally I would love to play as an Asari or a Krogan, but I do understand the problem.

Well that defeats the purpose of the RPG genre then. Just playing human and nothing else, and what data of people playing human over different race has to do with it? I think they just don't want to and it's a shame that they don't want to. I just hope they know what they're doing.

No it doesn't, you can still role-play even without choosing a different race

And they know fully well what they're doing and people are gonna buy the game regardless of race options

Seriously, why wouldn't we assume you're a troll? You think BioWare is omitting race selection because they hate you and that businesses shouldn't use relevant data to make smart choices. You have troll written all over you. You're either a troll or 8 years old.

I'm just saying that playable races will be more fun than just playing human all the time. And RPGs are meant to be set up to be anyone you want, do whatever you want and play your story how ever you want. Look @ Elder Scrolls of how they are successful of playable races and even Origins did an excellent job of playable races with different reactions of how people react to you, the experience of what it's like to live like an elf, dwarf, and even human. I'm saying it doesn't have to be the same thing over and over again, they should give it a chance.

Ugh.

That's like one time I heard a girl tell me on youtube that Zelda actually covers more of a time frame and has more lore in it.  It might technically be true.  But no one except for maybe Tell Tale can touch BioWare in the sense that they ladle on the lore.  While technically Skyrim's an RPG, I consider it an open sandbox for making teabagging, dick, and fart jokes.

I think this might be the worst version of "What is an RPG?"

What are you ranting about? Who said anything about those games not being RPG? See that's what I get posting on this forum. All the trouble i went through to voice my simple opinion. You know trolls don't have opposable thumbs. Next time you and your two brothers come tripping over my bridge..we're gonna have words. Troll time baby! Troll time!

YOU implied that those games aren't RPGs when you said RPGs are meant to let you be and do anything you want.
