You're gonna buy it either way.

So far there is absolutely nothing about the game that has me even slightly considering purchasing it, so no I'm not.

Yes you are. You wouldn't spend all this time here discussing the game if you had no interest in it.

I have an interest in the franchise as a whole. I have no interest in this particular game as of yet. There is a difference. I discuss things I would like this game to have so I could show interest in it.

The game has had what, two teasers? I'd be more surprised if you were already dead set on buying the game. Although, I do have to wonder what one so disenchanted by the game so far is doing on the BSN now without any news and an excess of pointless bickering and trolling. If multiple races is the only thing keeping you here, then may BioWare's explicit denial of their presence release you from your burden.

Regardless, I'm certain that BioWare's management have determined that the excessive amount of extra work and hassle they're avoiding is probably worth losing all 5 of the people who require it.

You've already shown tons of interest in Andromeda. You and Arcian and all the other people posting here all the time claiming you won't buy the game will be playing it day 1.

So you are not interested in a new galaxy or the new Mako or the new MC or the new companions or the new story or the new species? c'mon! Races aren't a big deal. At least not big enough to cover all the other things

I'm dead set on buying the game, but that's because I love BioWare's games and feel that they earned that sort of trust from me.

I don't have enough money to throw it at a game that has nothing appealing about it to me. As it is now, at best I'll borrow it from a friend but certainly not pay for it.

I post in more than just this section of the BSN. I post in the Dragon Age sections as well.

Race selection isn't the only thing I want in the game. But that is the topic of this thread thus what I will discuss.

No, I'm not interested in a new galaxy. We had 99.9% of the Milky Way still to explore. If that was all done, then I'd rather we explore the parts of the universe we actually have an idea about what's there, rather than absolutely everything being a figment of someone's imagination.

No, I'm not interested in the weaponless RC car that is the new Mako. It has nothing in common with the old Mako other than six wheels so why even have the same name?

No, I'm not interested in the "not Shepard 2.0" yet "has something to do with N7" protagonist.

No, I'm not interested in the new companions because we don't even know who they are so there's nothing to show interest in.

No, I'm not interested in the new story, especially if the leaks are true regarding that part of the game.

No, I'm not interested in the new species since like companions we know nothing about them, or even if there will be.

That's what they said with Arkham Knight... And then it came out in PC, but I suppose Origins might have been something of an omen. Still be careful what you pre-order people.

But you're right, I shouldn't assume that everyone shares a moderate to severe sense of cynicism towards this new game. I'm definitely getting it, but I might have to wait until the GOTY comes out like I did with Inquisition.

The vast majority of places we visit in the Milky Way are made up as well, namely the plethora of planets that are, beyond our own solar system, 100% fictional. It only uses bits and pieces of real things we can observe from earth.

Yeah, but, what do we really know about the game if you ignore the leak? Not much.

Not saying that it will be bad necessarily, but I will wait to know more (probably sometime after release) before I decide to actually buy it.

I plan to do the same thing ^^ but there's a difference between being careful and being stubborn or negative about every aspect. You need the right balance ^^

1)why the hell somebody do care about new galaxy then we do many things in our "old galaxy" in 3 games and we in new ME game was wait to see our decidions, connection, impact from them, not to run from them far far away and nevr see what we done

2)new mako(and this one is not even have a weapons) is a total garbage even by the old rusty  mako from me1, why the hell we need this garbage especially when we have "Kadiaks" and "Hammerheds" since ME2, mako in the new game means that we would waste our time in 30min races on many planet wastelands to do our missions...this would be like in DAI with riding horse and collect some materials

3)we know and see asari and even damn krogan as our teammates and we can understand that we see other aliens squadmates and this create a huge question what the hell is wrong with non-human protag in new galaxy by the game story

4)the story will be the same and lame, about humans are supreme good guys and aliens especialy ancient alliens are bad, humans need new home and we are the savior of the galaxy and humans and good aliens, who again cant do anything without some human soldier and their civilisation future must depend of some human soldier decidion

5)we not even dig enought content with old species why we need the new ones more than old ones, what the point of the game and game universe with many races and limit us with only  alliance-cerberus humans, this is cheap halo 2 garbage with some dialogues

they damn promise no more Shepard and we have again damn N7 human soldier who work for humans-alliance

Look. I'm not a fan of the ending(s) to the original trilogy but i see this as a fresh start and i'm looking forward to it. The mako is customizable and upgradeable so i don't see why it wouldn't have weapons. Humans also had one of the main villans and a backstabber politician. If the story is the "same and lame" what made you play it?. You haven't even seen some gamplay or anything related to the story. Give it a chance. Drop the pessimism. It's not good for you ^_^ or me.

And the places we do visit that are not made up are totally made up, in the sense that anything set near or within a world we "know" is just a made-up set piece that has no connection with what that places looks like IRL.

Everything we see in ME - without exception - is a figment of someone's imagination. All the alien races? Figment. Every location? Figment. That includes the locations we visit on Earth. Super future Vancouver and broken down devestated London are totally imaginative.

And, as always, we don't. RBG removed any chance of seeing the Milky Way again.

After trailer and info what we already have now, i am 99% sure that i am not buy it(especially i am know that it would be many dlc and bugs at the beginning) and in 90% that not even try to play it, i am just read all spoilers and see on youtube everything, and i am sure that i not see any good and new "fresh start" of ME universe, just a nail on a coffin

after DA2 i never trust bioware and Me3 kill it, and again with DAI what in most part was worst even by the DA2 and dlc almost made this game at least something what is not a total garbage, i was hope for MEA but everything what we have know now its like Me universe is diying to become some halo clone

for DA4 i still have a little hope since gaider is now out from creation of this game and this is a tevinter(upset with DorianMaevaris who in 90% would be our teammates no matter what and noone ask us as with Cullen and Lelianna), and i am hope that if not ME4 so ME5 would be better, but hope means nothing and i am a realist who just wait and see what would be

playable races, even damn asari what i hate a lot from Me races but they were so cheap alien playable race there bioware not have to do almost anything,  were made game intresting, at least you can close your eyes on many problems by pretend that you are a alien hero/villian and not give a sh*t and do what you like and think that you must in this situation..but we again forced to be the same shepard who work for the same humans and do the same work, again, nothing new, not any freadoms and creativity

To Chiara Lavelann :

Don't get mad at me! The topics was leading to the point : "better play humans because as fellow human we understand them more. And we can't play alien because they don't think like humans". We play elves, dwarves, Qunari so why can't we play an Asari, Turian or other as a main character!

To others :

And about the "Don't ask them that! It will take to much ressources", just ONE single question : do you hope MEA to be better than ME3? Yes or no? Because it is not by hoping the game has less features as possible that it makes a better game!

bold part is simply drawing at straws and hoping someone likes it, which some did to my dismay ofc.

pitiful point filled with entitlement.

i'd be more concerned with the quality of features that the game will have.

and quite frankly i'm surprised no one thinks back to mass effect 1 where the protagonist was human. to read further into this point, alot of Bioware's plot and lore among the original trilogy centers around humans. contact wars, first human spectre, the council treating shepard like a child simply because he was a human; the species considered to be "young" in the galaxy. TIM trying to make a name for Humans in the galaxy. Eden Prime being our first colony in outerspace attacked by collectors. collectors trying to build a human reaper.

Focus. As would tradition have it, the series will continue to focus around humans.

No it wouldn't. How would going to a nebula that actually exists be just as fictional as one that is made up?

It is a shame that they're repeating the same thing on every different game they make, I hope they're know what they doing if not they'll end up like the Japanese devs. It makes me think that BioWare is mad at people who called on their bullshit on their poorly made ending on ME3, and the critics what I've read said that they're games are dull and boring when it comes to playing the game. Whatever they got going in up there, they need to stop and look at the problems to come up with new solutions to make their games better, I know they can do better and they are other devs are getting better @ their games and not messing around. I hope they can step their **** up, but who knows? Maybe they'll come around.
