it would be better if they would repeat and improve best parts of their previous games and not create "new" bicycles and MP, focus only on SP game

i think ME games should be more like DAO and ME2, there you have your own ship(they even get you rid from all useless cerbero-alliance humans garbage and you are alone with your team and ship AI) and your own team(all squadmates should be optional and you must have option to get rid from them) and you do mostly what you like where you like and what you think to do or not and you live with your choice.

it was a shame that they was not kill Shepard in Me2 and give us to be another hero and who really could be a non-human

And if we stayed in the Milky Way, we could have seen more.

No it wouldn't. How would going to a nebula that actually exists be just as fictional as one that is made up?

It's all fictionalized. So they would used the name of a real nebula. So what? Everything in it would be entirely fictional, just like the rest of the game. There is literally no difference between that and the "Helios Cluster" of Andromeda. It's all made up. None of it is real.

Construction is good, like talking about how each game can learn from each other. Not the typical stuffs like Witcher is so much better, what a disappoint, what a piece of crap in relation to other games that I keep seeing on youtube or various sites for DAI, FO4, etc. Talking about Witcher and crap on other games even when the video is not even about the game is extra annoying. I don't have problems with the game itself or the fans, just the fanboys. If that's not you, then I wasn't talking about you.

Hey I'm sorry to say this, Witcher is better than Dragon Age and Skyrim. I believe in giving credit where it's due, if BioWare can cook up new ideas and come up with crazy ass gameplay to have players refuse to let go of the remote, it will remain on top games of RPG. If I played a game that trashes games I've played (as much I don't like to admit it) my hat's off to them for making a better game. Let Witcher 3 be a motivation for Dragon Age series to step up.

At least Andromeda itself is real. In the end, isn't that what really matters? XD

The Elder Scrolls is very, very, very inconsequential to what race you choose. Aside from like. one or two times, you barely get referenced to your race (aside from automated, nameless NPCs saying things as you walk by them.)

You get some stat bonuses and nerfs here and there, but that, later, becomes pointless and the way you build your character matters far more.

Mass Effect would be the same way. There's so many races with so many differences that dialogue would have to be written neutrally. If you have a voice, they'd have to cast probably extra people to play the races needed for the main character (or get two who are very versatile). It's just a whole lot of demand to make it a satisfying experience, they'd just go the TES route and make it neutral.

And, you know what? I find TES to be extremely boring.

Sure, I'd love to play a Salarian. I really, really would. But I'd much rather play a human and be focused than a "Salarian" and unfocused. Of course, my dream would be a ME game centered around Salarians buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut that's not likely.

Because it's a huge endeavor that would negatively impact the story and character interactions for very little benefit?

Maybe they can succeed with that where others failed. I say go for it.

They couldn't. It's too late in development and Mass Effect is too much of a cinematic franchise to try it. Having a voiced PC, tons of character interactions, a focused story, a PC with deliberate personality and multiple alien races cannot all happen. They would have to change what the franchise is to accommodate race selection.

I'm not sure what the elder scrolls has to do with this. In ME you actually see your character as you move and in cutscenes. ME3 multiplayer already used multiple races to great effect to change gameplay. Having different dodges, melee, armor and shields along with providing flavor to the possible powers. I personally believe multiple playable species adds a lot.

But yes, it is more work. Particularly for authentic voice acting. There are also certain types of stories where you would want to set the protagonist as a particular species. I am a bit disappointed they decided to do this again however, we just had 3 games in a row doing this. I would have thought the time would be right for a contrast.

It's not as if different dodges, melee attacks, and stats couldn't be achieved with only humans. The only functional properties that humans probably can't effectively replicate are the krogan's head-butt, the volus' height, and the asari's magic genitalia. Turians can't spit acid or anything like that, and even if they could, that's nothing a "wrist-mounted acid sprayer" couldn't solve.

BioWare could technically replicate multiplayer's implementation of multiple races by arbitrarily limiting powers to specific races, but that's merely imposing unnecessary restrictions to justify an unnecessary feature. While alternate races provide a decent excuse to diversify stats, they certainly aren't required, and unlike TES, BioWare can't just slap a lizard head on a human body and call it a day.

Multiple races in MEA would be akin to an extinction level event.

Playable races isn't a bad idea. That's probably why the topic is still alive.

I agree that it's too late at this point. It should've been something implemented from the very beginning.

Also, in a new galaxy, it wouldn't really matter how anyone interacts with you if we're being introduced to various new species. It's pretty much all the same to them, IMO. Weird looking Aliens.

...what about the old races? Would hopping on the ark automatically make every race treat each other race the same as they treat their own?

You mean other than the fact that provided nebulas we visit are based on ones we've actually observed, they would all still be filled with 100% fictional solar systems? But I guess the thing about this hangup that I find kind of ironic is that, well, Andromeda is kinda sorta real too.

We are a different N7 soldier though. Unless everyone in Andromeda just wears N7 gear for no reason.

Where did you get information that we are N7? It's possibility of course, but I haven't seen anything that would say so yet.

When BioWare showed the PC(both genders) in armor there was an N7 emblazoned on it. This isn't the best image, but you can see the N7.
