When BioWare showed the PC(both genders) in armor there was an N7 emblazoned on it. This isn't the best image, but you can see the N7.

Alright. Seems that we are N7 then if the plans have kept, bummer.

I was really hoping we wouldn't be N7 as well. Especially since it goes against the "combat trained but inexperienced" description. How can someone be N7 if they're in experienced?

Our PC could be N7 but lacking experience for any number of reasons.

How has this thread gone on so long? 16 pages? You would have thought that saying "No. There won't be playable races" wouldn't take this long.

Being N7 means you are experienced, since the Alliance only chooses the best of the best to be N7s.

People choose who becomes N7. People are stupid. Our PC could have been made an N7 out of nepotism, or for political reasons, or as a symbolic gesture in place of a medal of some kind. Maybe our PC gets on the ark because s/he saves the life of one of the people in charge of it and is made an honorary N7?

Here is the info about it from the lore:

Interplanetary Combatives Training (ICT) is the Systems Alliance's premier school for leadership and combat expertise. The Interplanetary Combatives Academy, sometimes called "N-School" or "the villa," recruits officers from every branch of Earth's militaries to partake in grueling courses at Vila Militar in Rio de Janeiro.

Initially, candidates train for more than 20 hours per day, leading small combat teams through hostile terrain with little sleep or food. Trainees who do well are awarded an internal designation of N1 and are invited to return. Subsequent courses - N2 through N6 - are often held off-planet and include instruction in zero-G combat, military free-fall (parachuting), jetpack flight, combat diving, combat instruction, linguistics, and frontline trauma care for human and alien biology.

The highest grade of training, N6, provides actual combat experience in combat zones throughout the galaxy. If the trainee survives these scenarios in "admirable and effective fashion," he or she finally receives the coveted N7 designation. N7 is the only ICT designation that may be worn on field or dress uniforms.

There is little shame in failing an N course - the training is so extreme that even qualifying for N1 elevates an officer to a position of respect. The universal prestige of merely attending the academy helps to restrain trainees from taking excessive risks in pursuit of higher honors.

Although ICT qualification by itself does not guarantee higher rank, those officers who are able to complete the program are typically well suited to senior leadership positions.

So no, to be a N7 you have to be very experienced.

Again, people make these decisions. The lore says all kinds of stuff that doesn't add up to much.

Stop it with playable race!!! This a N7 soldier in the trailer and N7 soldier is human!!! You're dream is not possible that all!!!

It will plummet if they pull the same **** again! They should stop repeating the same ****!! Come up with a unique roles like an explorer, astronaut, or a adventurer with military training at least.

This is small fry, look at that swearing thread, 40+ pages and growing of people repeating the same arguments over and over and over again.

It will be so boring if they put the typical space Jesus superhero saving the day crap instead of coming up something new. I love being a hero and all, but they should give people options such as choosing and playing different back stories, and choose to be good, evil, neutral, or different shades of gray personalities. Not to play another Shepard, let that typical N7 superhero **** rest.

I don't see what the big deal is if the character is N7. Having the character be N7 is probably the best way to account for his/her ability to survive hostile alien environments and lead a team. It has nothing to do with whether or not the character is "Space Jesus". That can happen with or without that ranking.

It's humans only, at least in singleplayer.

About the N7, it might be worth mentioning that it can means anything in Andromeda. I'm hoping there isn't a continuation between the institutions of the original trilogy and the ones present in the new galaxy.

Hasn't BioWare already said that you play as a human female or male and that is it, or did I miss something?

Yes, we just have nothing better to do with our lives.

I agree. And besides is says combat experience in combat zones and if did admirably promoted. That is vague and allows for judgement calls, so the stupid human decision excuse is built into the lore.

Maybe the protagonist performed well because they avoided combat for a good reason, maybe they got captured instantly but hahdled themselves well as a prisoner not breaking under torture, maybe due to political reasons it was the safest combat zone in the galaxy so they never really were tested etc.

So yes even if the lore didn't get bent routinely once something is determined by a person making a decision any range of stupid things can happen.

I think the argument is DAI last minute added races so they can do the same here.

I'm saying it is going to be very boring if they are going to repeat the same story/character pattern on every game they make. It seems to me that they don't want to change and using repetition on every game, that's what it really bothers me of how they just copy/paste on every game and expecting the same results and awards. I'm simply saying they have to do something different and make games that people never experience before, and not just repeating the same **** over and over again.

They should put playable races to create diversity, especially when playing something big like the outer space and a massive galaxy to explore and having epic adventures and a whole lot of different species to interact with and learn different cultures, histories, religions, and philosophies from them like on Star Trek. I think playable races on Mass Effect franchise should be invested in to create diversity for people to play and experience with, they did it with DA: Origins and Inquisition so why not put the same thing on Andromeda or the next Mass Effect game?

The armor being emblazoned with N7 doesn't mean we are one. But it might also be like Shepard becoming a Spectre. The N7 we see in the trailer gets Nihulus'd and then the Not-Shepard-The-Protagonist becomes an N7 later on. In DA, the advertised iconic armour isn't available from the start.

Hopefully in the MP for Mass Effect Andromeda we get playable races in there and a character creater for each class, maybe bring some SP elements to how MP works so we can have a Character Race creator for it. Honestly make it separate from ME:A sorta thing and even have it come out for free for people who purchase Andromeda. Honestly know some people who only got ME3 for the MP, its shame but I think ME:A MP being a bit separate from the ME:A might make it better. Remember we always hear that COD and Battlefield would be better if they just focused on the MP and not bother with a story.

And yes this goes in playable races because we will only see this happen in the MP and I do hope we get to create a Character for each class and races we pick under that class would be races that can actually do that class.

I honestly want the ME3MP on PS4 while we wait for Andromeda lol, it would be badass to just play it while waiting for Andromeda.

I imagined it would have been something like this.

Spoiler

But then the question is, where the hell did the PC get the armor?
