DAI and all the DLCs are visually stunning in general,, I think this is the most beautiful game I have ever played.
But what stands out to me is the way they did that sea, with the waves and water crashing on the rocks and foam etc, it's so beautiful to watch.
Good work Bioware!

They actually got the water simulation from DICE (the Frostbite developers).Good work Bioware!
But yes, it is pretty good.

It's too good. I got really sick during the rift closing and shard hunting there.

I can almost hear my Lavellan thinking, "If I slip and fall down, the waves would swept me away and I'll drown.." ^^'

Yeah, it's very pretty to look at.
I just watch there was more to do there besides killing a bunch of red templars and a lightning dragon at level 16.

I love the visuals too. When I close the game, it takes me a few seconds to realize that I'm not running in the forest or jumping on the rivers anymore, but between 4 small walls.. SO immersive ![]()

Yeah the environments are top notch. I have a thing for deserts too, I love running around exploring them. Beautiful game!

Am I really the only one who gets incredibly irked at the waves on the Storm Coast? Overall, the areas are beautiful, but waves do not crash like that. The water recedes, then the wave crashes and water splashes over sand much further away than where the water receded to. But on the Storm Coast, the water stays at the same level on the beach, and the excess water from the wave just... goes into a black hole the fade or something.
If you look at it, you might understand what I mean. It doesn't make physical sense and it irks me. Maybe it's because I live by the ocean. But it would be like watching someone get run through by a sword and not having the sword be visible on the person's other side.

Maybe if you'd actually read other people's posts you'd know...

Well, this is embarrassing... I skimmed, and only saw people talking about how beautiful it was. Of course the one I missed was the relevant one. My bad.

It bothers me to no end. I don't like how the waves just disappear.Am I really the only one who gets incredibly irked at the waves on the Storm Coast? Waves come and go. Maybe the storm coast has an invisible force to change the way waves behave. Which is why it's called the storm coast.

I noticed that immediately in my first playthrough, but it didn't adversely affect the mood so it was ok for me. All in all, still very impressive work and a drastic improvement about what Bioware did before. I suspect simulating the correct crashing of waves would've taken up too much CPU time.

It bothers me that all those waves simply disappear. Like the sea just pulls them back at the last second so they don't hit the shore. It's called the sea of storms, but it doesn't even behave like a normal shore, let alone a stormy one.
EDIT: Small typo.

Yes, this bugged me as well. I pointed it out to my husband and whined, "but, waves don't doooo that!"

It's not the end of the world, no, but... it irks me
Someone suggested it was actually made by DICE already. Now I'm trying to remember if waves acted like that in Battlefield...

The visuals were one thing almost everyone agreed BioWARE significantly improved.

Well at least Bioware's waterfalls were correct. In Skyrim the water flows UP before it drops down. ![]()

I think they improved the visuals on the characters massively. The faces and skin etc are beautiful. The only thing that was a let down for me was the hair, lol.

Yeah, the facial animations (but not the rest) and skin quality were vastly improved. However, that makes it even more jarring to see the terrible quality of the hair - both in appearance and texture quality - atop a marvelous looking face ![]()
I am also not a fan of 95% of the armour variants - that you can use, anyway.
