Hello Everyone,

Am having a really though choice to decide what class to play, I know .. for me it’s a endless nightmare and its driving me crazy :P.

I started to play about 3 weeks ago, first time I play this game and first character, wich is a Lvl 16 Reaver Warrior.

What am kinda looking for is a versatile class, one that is great in most situations and especially in endgame.

I wanted to know if I made a good choice? class wise,  cause many off you have waaaay more exp then myself.

I do have to admit that rogue is one off the classes that also looks interesting and I could consider playing.

Depending of your guys feedback, and If I would keep playing my current char, what is your opinion of my build?

Two-Handed Weapon

Block and Slash /
Mighty Blow /
Easy Target (Skill Upgrade) /
Flow of Battle /
Shield Breaker

Vanguard

Challenge /
Charging Bull /
Gore and Trample (Skill Upgrade) /
Trust the Steel /
It'll Cost You /
Unbowed /
Still Standing (Skill Upgrade)

Reaver (Specialization)

Ring of Pain /
Torrent of Pain (Skill Upgrade) /
Blood Frenzy /
Fervor /
Scenting Blood /
Devour /
Dragon-Rage /
Ravage (Skill Upgrade)

Thank you all for the feedback, much appreciated.

Mage > Rogue > Warrior as far as versatility, IMO. However, they all seem to be fun, or at least the ones I am able to play (ie; not DW).

What spec when it comes to rogues : Assassin or Tempest?

Any.

Tempest Is good fun, but really only Flask of fire is useful for an archer. Works a lot better on a DW rogue.
Assassin is good for both an Archer and a DW rogue,
Artificer is great for an archer. Take a look at kennedy's vids on the "Post a video of your inquisitor..." thread.

Mage: Any build is good.
Rift mage is great if you can keep within weaken range for the buffs.. Stand on an ice mine with frost armor will help you survive on the higher difficulties.

Necromancer is great for damage as their abilities deal spirit damage, not many things resist spirit damage. Death siphon is also great.
Knight enchanter.. I never touch this class.

Warrior:
2H champion works well as an off-tank. Deals good damage and will refuse to drop. To the death.. enough said.
Reaver is good, but can be squishy. Only the left side of the Vanguard tree is really needed to let it be useful.
Templar, Situation at best. You wont always be fighting demons, so you would need to take the abilities also effect mages.. upgrade instead of the damage to have some more use. But even then you will mostly be fighting warriors or rogues.

Remember you can take the SnSh passives when you are a 2H warrior and they will still have effect.
Likewise for an archer taking the DW passives.

Holy Crap! Those 2 vids look owsome! :) .. I hope I can reach that level/skil/gear!

Tbh the rogue looks more fun then the reaver warrior, the artificer is insane :). But I guess you have pretty OP gear aswell ..

I just checked ur youtube channel, I saw your assassin rogue doing 186k damage.. lol!

What you show in your vids is kinda my goal, being able to solo the game ..

Any chance I could get a line up from the builds?

Kinda to bad we have to choose a spec, cause artificer looks fun, but assassin aswell.

for artificer you must have cheapshot in sabotage line ,in artificer line you must have opportunity knock and take them all down(optional) ,leapingshot for multiple hit basically no cool-down and I choose longshot instead of full draw ,because full draw is too further down and full draw tend to be very slow ...

for reaver ,all reaver line without rampage ,for Vanguard tree you must have charging bull to generate guard+free stamina for next skill and then you either go for livid or horn of valor either depend what enemy you fighting for boss fight horn of valor ,normal mobs use livid ,and in 2handed weapon line you must have battle-flow to shoren cool-down duration ...the reason why I doesn't use horn of valor/ring of pain in the boss fight because I need stamina to use devour which cost 65stamina and with all trials on I couldn't use Hp Potion as well ....and actually I almost die if wasn't for the dragonling ,they save me ,because I use amulet of death syphon which restore certain amount of my health and stamina back for each kill ,they're seriously life-saver :)

If I may ask one more thing, what would be your recommendation when it comes down to choosing a class.

Just somthing you can have endless fun with, and is  perfect for endgame?

I just don't wanna spend hours and hours levelling somthing I aint gonna play.

Options are : Rogue ( any spec ), Warrior ( Reaver )

Really depend on your playstyles, if you like to spam as many skill as possible artificer rogue/archer ,reaver warrior only dragon rage+devour ,if you like pure DPS and huge number popping out then assassin rogue ,and if you like challenging and keep control of tactical camera then mage , tactical camera just not my stlye :(

You want something that you are going to enjoy. That is different from person to person.

I for instance, cannot stand playing DW rogues. I prefer to play as an Archer.

My recommendation to you is this. Take a bit of time with each of your companions. Play with them for a while and let the AI handle your main. Quickly you will learn what you enjoy and what you do not enjoy.

In the end every class becomes OP at the end game. Especially with crafting. So, experiment with your companions and you will find what you enjoy the most and go with that.

One more thing.

Gear! Is the best gear found by playing ( loot systeem ) , or is the best gear mostly crafted? ( weapons, armor, accessoires )

Cause if am correct, some merchants sell shematics but most of them are a drops.

It can be both, though crafting does allow for designs that are closer to what the Player desires. My general rule of thumb is keep any Unique (purple) items, except for anything with the Berserker effect; then sell, sell, sell!

In addition, as resources are somewhat limited, choose whether to craft for any or all of the Inquisition. Personally choose to only craft for the Inq themselves, and then the main team in late game (ie; 21+ lvl).

Armors and weapons are probably the best when crafted. Even the purples you get from dragons do not compare very well to the t3 (or 4 if you have DLCs) you can craft yourself.. And when you craft you can make it how you want it and avoid stuff you don't need :P Helms are best when found (specially epics). They have a lot of stats and useful ones. I never found craftable helms or hat with decent craftable stats tbh, and played 4 times so :P

As for the class.. I played both DW Rogue and Rift Mage.
The rogue does incredible damage (Assassin spec) and is my favourite class ever. It is so fast and I love jumping from an enemy to another or throwing hidden blades who do A LOT of damage.. or use spinning blades.. It's like she's dancing on the field :P

Mage is more versatile but I found it slower, cooldowns recharge slower than rogue and you can just stand in one place and shoot so it gets a bit boring sometimes. But it's good for CC, a bit of damage, resurrecting, barriers, etc etc and (personal opinion) mage makes more sense in the Inquisition story..
(And I love being able to engage enemies who are far away by just shooting a ball instead of having to walk to them with the melee classes) :P

Warrior I never tried, but whenever I try using Cassandra or Blackwall I get bored. No idea why, it looks slow and you have to be in reach of everything and the cooldowns seem to take forever.. Maybe I'm playing it wrong, dunno.

Are you a cerebral player or "action" player? I generally for instance like to play builds where I have a more cerebral approach to combat in how to "pick enemies apart". That is why in general my favorite classes have been mages especially the necro, and methodical rogues like assassin which identify the most dangerous target on the battlefield, eliminate it efficiently and move on to the next.

And I got spoiled by playing multiplayer reaver which with perma rampage(or rampage every 15-20 seconds basically) is just way better than the single player version.

While crafted items are in general better, there are imo some exceptions, like the bitter axe (hakkon dlc) for sns templars. But they are all quite late game especially some very great trespasser weapons.

You don't have to choose. That's what's great about having playable companions in every combination of every class/spec.

Well, I guess you do have to make a choice, but you are not too stuck with it. It's slightly more emphasized in Trespasser, but other than that, if you get bored with whatever you chose, switch to some other companion.

I understand your point, but am not that kinda player. And i think many feel the same when i say that playing with a follower doesn't feel the same as playing with your own inquisitor. And like i said, the goal is to start solo'ing the game.. Atleast at some point.

But from all the feedback i got today i gonna give my assassin a shot.

Unless this is your first play through, again, it doesn't matter. You can solo with any class/spec.

Based on number of YouTube videos showing NM solos, KE and Archer (Assassin or Tempest), are the most popular, though most of those are pre-Patch 10. YMMV with KE now. Rift Mage should do at least as well as KE. That said, there are videos for 2H Reaver, S&S Reaver, etc., etc.
