Hello there !!!

It's really annoying that i cannot load my (modded) savegames after updating to the latest patch. I already tried to edit the

package.mft file and i also re-modded the latest patch with mod manager and a inventory mod.

I still can't continue my game....Help me please !

Just delete your merged patch from the update folder then re-merge your mod folder. The merged mft should then be version 13 and work. Unless i've read you wrong and this is what you've already done, in which case someone better than me might know what the problem is.

Well, i used a inventory mod very early before the most patches came out and i didn't had this problem with the other patches that came before this one. Only the latest patch seemed to mess up with my savegames: There is no "Continue Game" button and the "Load" Button is also greyed out.

I used a new inventory mod which works with the latest patch. I really can't remember which inv mod i used before. Might this be a problem when merging the latest patch with mod manager? Any idea what i did wrong?

I'm no expert, but I found that unlike previous patches, this time, you have to manually select "Force Rescan of Patch" on the Mod Manager when you merge the files. After I did that, it worked fine.

Hi Berelinde, i tried it with "Force Rescan of Patch" but it didn't work either.

Do i need to rename the original "Patch" folder to back it up and then rename the merged folder into "Patch" to start DA:I with mods?

That's really bothers me, i just want to continue my game   :(

In my case there are 2 "official patch" in the list, I unchecked the last one, everything works fine (except for BE of course)

No, you should be able to just merge the files and go.

If you think you may have accidentally corrupted your installation, you can always delete the Merged_Patch file entirely, right click on DAI in Origin and choose "Repair Game" and then re-merge, checking the "Rescan Patch" check-box. Let the Mod Manager (you are using v59, right?) scan the patch, merge the mods with the patch, and create its own file folder (don't tell it where to create the folder, just go with the default). That way, you can be sure that you're starting with a clean installation.

There is no "Continue Game" button and the "Load" Button is also greyed out.

This makes me think that your issue has nothing to do with mods. Usually if the mods are broken you get an infinite loading screen, or the game will crash, or something along those lines.

Normally when a new patch is released, because of the incrementing that the Mod Manager does (patch 10 loads as patch 11, and so on) if you want to just play and go without mods you can do that. The saves with the previous patch will have the version number of the current patch (in this case 11, from patch 10, which is now officially patch 11), so there should be no issue in loading the old modded save without mods in a freshly patched game. (Apologies if that was poorly worded.)

So, as berelinde said, I would recommend deleting the merged patch folder and using Origin to repair your game. Because you haven't been able to load those saves at all, I would recommend just trying without merging your mods just to see that everything is OK with the game. Once you can load into the game and all is well, then go ahead and try merging again.

Also, don't forget that there are official forums for the DAI Mod Manager and Mod Maker, as well as a Tumblr where you can ask for help.

I already deleted the merged folder and the orginal patch folder too and then updated/repaired the game through origin without success!  :(

Do you think a complete reinstall will fix the problem? I am not sure if it makes a difference to repairing the game.

Uhm... Have you checked to make sure your saves are still in the save folder -- C:\Users\USER_NAME\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition\Save? And do you have the Origin cloud saving thing turned on?

The fact that the Continue Game and Load menu items are greyed out is very concerning, beyond even the mod issue. And are you able to start a new game as normal?

Nightscrawl is right, I don't think this is a mod issue. About the only thing I can think of that would cause "Continue" and "Load" to be greyed out would be if your saved games include entitlements that you don't currently have installed. Say, for example, that you began the "Deluxe Edition" version of the game and then attempted to play it on a non-Deluxe version. When you were deleting folders, trying to get something - anything - to work, is it possible that you could have accidentally deleted your "Flames of the Inquisition" folder? I did that myself once, so I know how easy it is to do.

It's easy to check to see if this is the case, and easy to fix if it is. Open up Origin and click on the DAI tile, then click on the grey "i" button to see what DLC and special features you have installed. The Deluxe upgrade and any DLC you purchased should show up as "installed". If you see "download" or "install now", it means that you accidentally deleted the folder.

That's weird. I just remerged and that was it, all went well.

Maybe you are using some mod that is not compatible with this patch?

I think even in this case that those buttons would still be there. I once tried to load a JoH-enabled save without JoH installed and the game just gave me a message telling me that I needed to install additional content or something, but the buttons for Continue and Load were still there.

After re-installing the whole game there's still the same issue: can't load or continue my game. I can start a new game which seems to work normally.

I think i used the inventory mod before Patch 6 and i never had to remerge things until the latest Patch 12.

Well, maybe support can help me because i really don't know what has happened to my savegames

Well! That's something that would never have occurred to me in a million years. Glad you figured it out. I never would have.
