     I've been working on this theory for awhile now and I'd like to hear what everyone thinks about it. It doesn't have a great deal of evidence going for it, but nothing really going against that I know of it. Because of that, its more of a headcanon theory than anything else but you never know what might come up. As I'm sure you all have noticed, the protagonists of all the Dragon Age games are extremely powerful, almost to a superhuman level. Now, obviously its a video game so that's part of it but its pretty extreme how the protagonists and party are able to fight some of the most powerful creatures in Thedas without breaking a sweat. That got me thinking, what if there was some sort of entity that made the protagonists more powerful than a normal man? My theory is that the protagonists of each game were born with the souls of Old Gods. The Grey Wardens thought that when the Archdemons were killed, their souls were simply destroyed. However, there isn't really any reason to think that the soul of a god can be destroyed so easily. My idea is that the souls of the Archdemons that have been killed now occupy the bodies of various heroes of Thedas until that person dies such as the Warden, Hawke, the Inquisitor, and other famous people in Thedas. Those carrying the Old God souls are completely unaware of the fact. My thinking is that the Warden carries Andoral, Hawke carries Zazikel, and the Inquisitor carries Dumat. This is to reflect their personalities. This would explain why each hero is so powerful and also tie them together and give the protagonists a connection to each other. As we see from Kieran, this wouldn't make the heroes true gods and powerful beyond reason, it would just make them a bit more powerful than the average man. Like I said before, its more of a headcanon theory, but if you're like me and like you're heroes to have a bit of supernatural power, this may be a good theory to think about. I know this theory is definitely out there and there isn't much to support it but if you can think of any reasons why this theory does or doesn't work, feel free to share.
