So, am I to assume there will be new alien races in the game, not an just entire ensemble of recycled old ones? Hopefully you make them less humanlike and more truly alien. Maybe sentient barreleye fish or treehoppers?

The second leak mentions we will be encountering "warring alien races". I thought it might be these two new species mentioned in the first leak, but after the trailer- what looked like turians (new models?) fighting two humans and a krogan- I think maybe some of the council races are now enemies. It is going to be really sad in my opinion if humans and turians are enemies again.

You can see the silhouettes of the two of the aliens fairly clearly in that image, one right underneath the N7's left arm and the other near the far left of the screen. While there is some similarity with Turians, they appear to have a more hulking appearance and their heads appear more rounded and missing the frills.
Whether or not the leaks were legit, I think the aliens glimpsed in the teaser were a new species rather than a returning one.

The one on the left that stands out the most looks like two things to me: a turian, or an elite, from Halo. On the right, it does resemble a krogan a wee bit, though I'm sure that's just the dust playing tricks with my eyes. Probably the same species as the alien on the left, hard to tell what these are at this time (obviously not a bloody elite, lol)

Their legs were L-shaped, almost making a 90 degree angle. Turian legs aren't that bent, nowhere near close (they are like 45, 60 degrees at most I think), neither were Quarian or Prothean legs. The only one that comes close are the Vorcha and the Krogan, but their bodies don't have those shapes.
I say those guys are not Turian or any other known race for that matter. I'm almost ceirtan that it's one of the new species that we'll encounter.

I'd say that the second one was really the only plausible one when it comes to the picture that we were just analysing. As for the other two, well, the first one would be a rather bizarre touch, but, I think that may be a little bit of something that Mass Effect needs. The third one looked seafaring, naturally. Could be some amazing sea level where we run into them.

You are probably right! I looked at the trailer again, and although it seems they do have elongated heads, the chest and legs are very different from turians. I don't think new body models will mean a complete overhaul of the original design, so these guys from the trailer may be the new aliens.
