I don't think that playing a Tevinter actually works....

The simple fact is that even Dorian, who everyone loves, didn't see a problem with slavery and as well expressed NO interest in non-mages being given more rights. And Dorian is an artpical Tevinter.

I wouldn't mind because its something different then Fereldan or being a Marcher but I also want to make a mage noble origin in Tevinter. If they want to follow there tradition fine if not Id rather Tevinter maybe the option for both maybe possible instead of American accent have French Accent but honestly as long as the origin stories are good and playable in game im fine with it. As long as the PC is from somewhere different I will still play the game regardless because our PC cultural background has yet to decide if a dragon age game will be good or not I couldn't choose where Warden, Hawke, or Inquisitor is from and I wont be choosing for DA4. I wont knock it because it might be done well ive been surprised before but for personal taste I would rather not be from Fereldan.

Edit:Plus I want them to figure out how to make Qunari work first in Tevinter because that is gonna be there biggest lore challenge

It would be extremely disappointing if we weren't from a Tevinter background, its a vast empire ruled by mage nobility with a ancient history from which the belief in the maker existed long before andreste was born, likely even before her ancestors migrated from the distant west and plus it has dwarves who are respected on the surface. It also that a separate chantry that predated, joined with and later broke away from the southern chantry complete with male married priests and holding that Andreste was a mage who was the prophet of the maker not his bride.

I think DAI had a Free Marcher because Bioware knew it wouldn't sit well with fans to be stuck with that accent the entire game. Plus, it allowed us to be an outsider to both Ferelden and Orlesian politics, so it seemed the Inquisition was neutral rather than explicitly Ferelden or Orlesian, at least until Trespasser.

So I doubt we'll ever play an Orlesian, unless it's one like Aveline who was born Orlesian but moved to another country at an early age and doesn't consider themselves culturally Orlesian.

Plus, I think we'll start DA4 as a Tevinter slave. Unless we're enslaved from a raid on Orlais...?!

I am rather hoping a a human or elven mage start will be a high or low noble start, a dwarf would be part of the houses assicated with the dwarven Embassy, a non mage human or elven start would be as a common solder in the Tevinter Legions and no Qunari starts.

Even More Ideal would be a start where you are a Magister simply because the idea of a Magister saving the world from Solas and prehaps the Qunari as well when in ancient times the magisters nearly destroyed it.

Since Iron Bull gave it quite the talk up I've always been interested in the Island of Seheron. The place seems to have a variety of major players (natives, Qunari, Tevinter, Tal-Vashoth). If the player were say a native guerilla fighter you could still have that cultural association and connection with Tevinter but still be an outsider of sorts. And this could be extended with meaningful race options as well, with the island's Tal Vashoth.

Ideally, I'd quite like the next game to be naval themed, visiting port towns from all countries in the north. Would fit with race options as well, unlike the Inquisition as a band of pirates are more likely to follow a dwarf or a Qunari because he's a tough son of a gun whereas a Qunari leading a chantry organization always seemed a little questionable to me.

It's become tradition for each protagonist to be from the country the previous game was set in: Hawke from Ferelden and the Inquisitor from the Free Marches. That way we can get away with knowing nothing about the culture and people of the country we're in I assume. If the next game is set in Tevinter, do you think BioWare will actually make the PC Orlesian? I can't imagine dat accent would go over very well.

We do get the Orlasian Warden Commander in Awakening If you left your Warden to die and all. So I'm gonna say no to this becuase we already could have a Orliasan PC.

I'd love an Orlesian protagonist, but it might feel a little contrived if we're going north. I think a Rivaini or an Ander PC would be something I could get behind, then again if we play a pirate they could conceivably be from anywhere including Orlais.

I'd really prefer being a Tevinter native in Tevinter.

Give me cities.  Don't give me a million fetch quests in wide open areas that take hours to complete.  Get rid of shards.  I'm good with puzzles but they must matter to the main story line.  In fact, all the side quests should mean something toward the main story line.  No fetch quests and no Orlesian PCs.  I'll take Tevinter or Free Marches, both would fit.

I want the female to have the voice of the random woman who loses her ring at the beginning of Wicked Eyes Wicked Hearts.

I heard her voice saying "You there! Wabbit" over and over again stuck in my head for days after playing Wicked Eyes Wicked Hearts

But they were still Orliasan and all. Please, save me the horrors of having the next PC be an Orlaisan. It'd save the trouble of having to put earplugs on to prevent myself of having headaches.
