A "headshot machine" requires a gun that doesn't have every other bullet go randomly somewhere not where it started. GPR is a headshot machine. Locust is not far behind. Valkyrie WOULD be a headshot machine if the second round was not shot by a drunken sailor who just stepped onto solid land.

Not wanting to resort to cliche, but this sounds like a L2P issue.

I'm wondering if you guys are talking about the same gun as I am.

For me, the Valkyrie has no recoil, it just has bad bullet spread, even on Hunter Mode / Marksman / Devastator Mode kits.

Do we have to start prefacing all our gun comments with platform dependant markings?

I never have a problem with bullet spread on my Geth Engineer at mid range and sometimes even at long range.  Without an accuracy boost though, you're absolutely right.  The second shot frequently misses the head at mid-range or longer, and there's really no way to control it.

Disagree. I'm on PC using a mouse though.

The problem I have with the valkyrie is it's a headshot weapon and second second will miss most of the time without an accuracy boost. Saber all the way unless with a class with an accuracy boost.

I like both of them. Saber is better though.

This is pretty much my feelings on the matter.  They're both great guns, but the Sabre is usable on a wider range of kits than the Valkyrie.  That said, it only truly shines on a select few.

Yup.  Valkyrie's not a bad gun at all, it just needs specific kits to make it shine.  And the Saber is not only a good choice on a wider range of classes, it also happens to be even better on those classes which make the Valkyrie look good.

Is this supposed to be some sort of circular logic madness for fun with hungover friends or something? Either way, must purge viral binary thoughts from wrecking havoc on me.

Play each one to its strengths and you'll have two good guns to choose from and not only one by asking which is better.

both are excellent AR's. i play PC and mouse, maybe its harder on console. all the weapons in ME have good and bad points none of them are perfect and most require a modicum of accuracy and practice to exploit fully.

i have been in games where someone has the Saber and scored very low and also the Valk. the Saber does have a long a reload time which is where the Valk scores with its multiple shots. but the trick is learning the subtleties of each weapon and using it to your advantage. i personally think a lot of weapons were better prior to the balance changes but we dont want to rake that up again.

It's not the Valkyrie's fault. It's just that the Saber Is just such a Beast!

For sounds? Saber.
For looks? Saber.

For anything else? Not Valkyrie.

So in short:

You take your logic and you get the hell out of here, Cata!

BSN only accepts completely biased absolutes from one end of the spectrum or the other. Choose!

That said, I kinda agree with Cata, but it's hard to argue with dat Saber sound.

Talon on Turians with even more added stability help and scope is quite nice.

lol Terminator, a scope is for wusses. i usually play it on an Asari Vanguard or Adept class. for the type of gun it has very little recoil, silly really but one of the many vagaries of the game.

I like pistol scoping on power classes sometimes. It seems to allow me to lock onto targets way past the normal range. And powers move slow enough that without the lock it will miss just due to the enemies basic walking speed. Don't know if it's reality or delusion.

Saber has a garbage crosshair,so I prefer Valkyrie. That said, when Marksman is a factor the Saber reigns supreme.

Everyone likes the Saber except me. Probably because I'm a worse shot that a drunken Imperial Stormtrooper with his eyes closed.

Not on the Talon. Turns it into a Sniper Rifle without the shieldgate issue. Very handy for Platinum. Just learn to quick scope. Plus maxing stability on it means you don't have to re-adjust lining up the headshot much again, saving you on time. Why this setup works so well. Otherwise Talon is more of a close quarter weapon.

Valky is still a good choice if you feel reluctant to use the Carrier, just saying.

I don't have the  Valkyrie.

My saber is only a 2.
