I wish they had done the entire game like they did Trespasser.  I didn't feel like it was a grind at all.  Loved it.  In fact, I loved all the main quests of the game.  If that was all there was with a few side quests, say 40 to 50 hrs of game play, I would play this game several times over.  As it is, I'll fondly remember Samantha Rutherford, her husband Cullen and her best friends for a long time to come and hope that BW changes just what needs to be changed for the next game.

Bravo Bioware.  Great show.

It's more linear setting coupled with it's small areas for exploration reminded me very much of DA:O. Which is a good thing. I strongly believe things, including games, should keep hold of their roots.

I agree.  It took me back to the roots of Dragon Age.

Yeah, the more focused experience allowed BioWare to play to it's strengths rather then it's weaknesses. Although there were still missteps (Hello, skin that stalks.)

I agree. I just finished the entire game from start to finish with all the DLC uncluding Trespasser. And wow...

Bioware. I love you guys. between Dragon Age and Mass Effect I have many fond memories and have been touched by these games.

I loved this final DLC. Despite all the mirrors it was not to repetative. Combat at the lv cap of 27 made things interesting. Hell that Sarabas mage battle at the end? I was never on the edge of my seat more while yelling at my tv as I was during that drawn out fight.

I chose to support Solas in the end and disbanded the inquisition. For one I was not about to work for Divine Victoria. And it seemed keeping the inquisition around longer was not going to help show Solas the good on the world.

So now Inquisitor Aurora "First Thaw" Lavellan is having Dagna make her an arm that she can channel magic through. All the while getting into all sorts of trouble with her wife Sera.

Ok maybe I made the arm part up but I bet Dagna could make an awesome arm of sorts for her.

With so many questions answered and yet so many more questions raised, I can't wait to see what comes next.

Well I agree with the general feel of the DLC itself, but not the boss battles. It was just a ogre with magic and an increased HP bar, nothing interesting there.

It was the content that captured me not the combat.  I did not like the combat in the entire game, but the dlc was worse, throwing hordes of enemies at you all at once and making level 25 hit points higher than level 25 hit points in the main game with the limitations of the combat system.

The story was very good and there was a lot of it.  There was a lot of interaction with your companions.  The only thing that had me wondering was the very ending scene when they're talking about Solas and getting new people.  It leaves it open for the inquisition to be a big part of the hunt for Solas.

Hmm...damn, I think I'm going to have to play it again....alas, I am off...

It's relative linearity and much stronger focus on story and characters over exploration definitely played to Bioware's strengths, and as a result was easily the best part of Inquisition by far.

If it helps with the hordes of enemies, I like baiting them toward some gaatlok and hitting Anchor Discharge. The gaatlok will detonate in their faces, and the invulnerability means none of my party takes damage. Even on Nightmare, there are some clusters of enemies that will be instakilled by gaatlok explosions. :)

Of course, this only helps with the enemies after the damage upgrade to Anchor Discharge, but that's the only area where there are big, unskippable hordes.

As for Saarath, bring Cole, Sera, and some fully upgraded Pitch Grenades, and his health bar will dissolve into the wind.

Oh good idea on the pitch grenades.  I was a 2 handed warrior so I needed a tank, a mage and Cole.

For Trespasser, I like bringing 3 rogues and a mage. Anchor Discharge handles groups, so it was nice to have lots of single-target specialists for handling bosses.

My end team was my mage Aurora with her mark. Sera, her wife. And of course Iron Bull and Dorian. My stratagy with Saarath was hit him hard and fast until he threw up his barrior. Then since his attacks were nearly killing my crew instantly, I'd disengage from combat and lead everyone to the gate on the far side of the area. There we would fight off any remaining qunari while waiting for Saarath's barrior to fall. Once it fell, We'd rush back in. I'd hit him with my tier 3 fade rift. honestly the other out of control rift spell was near useless to me as a mage since I was keeping clear.

Rinse and repeat.

But yes the story is what got me the most and had me at awe. I disliked the combat. No new spells and already at the lv cap? That was a dumb move I think. I could never really feel like I could get the upper hand on the enemy and I could not learn any new skills. But the content with your companions and just the gripping story telling...

Since my inquisitor romanced Sera, she never learned from Solas directly about how her tattoo is actually a slave mark. But as she persued the qunari and ultimately encountered Solas, she learned all she had known was a lie. I chose to disband the order and to do things on her own. To remain uncorrupted and help Solas see the good in the world.

And I was in tears laughing during the end credits as Cassandra reads short stories and tries to sound like various different people haha

Trespasser was short, forced, and poorly written. It sucked.

What makes you say that?

Not trying to start a fight, just genuinely curious.

I hope they see the many positive reviews of Trespasser and quit their Skyrim delusions. I really hope they see the forum, see how much people complained about their shallow side quests, their useless maps and how people were amazed by how afuckingmazing Trespasser was. DA4 being a huge Trespasser would make the franchise a lot less awful. Not good, not even acceptable, but at least less awful. If they bring stats back however, perfect game. RPG = Stat distribution.

I agree with you on short, and it is obvious they planned something bigger - there is a table for sending advisers to operations ,for an example. Which is nevewr used.

Forced though..... Well it was just a storyline, without any side story fluff around, how could they make it non-forced? Actually there was decent number of choices in the end.

Poorly written - disagree,it is not Nobel prize material but compared to Descent and even Jaws it is decently written. The only thing i can think of as far as writing is concerned is that story has weird pacing and feels rushed - which it clearly was.

As I said, I was a 2 handed warrior so 3 rogues and a mage wouldn't work for me.  It might work this time around.

I did not feel rushed in it.  I felt like it fit the story.  The only thing I didn't like was the hordes of enemies.  I'm a writer and I truly enjoyed it.  I don't think the writing was bad at all for a video game.

I wanted more options in dealing with the Viddasala, the Iron Bull and the Exalted Council. I hated the harlequin and fireworks minigames. Apart from that I liked it.
