After Inquisition, I just want there to be actual armour in the game. Not an infinite stream of ****** trenchcoats.
How about a trenchcoat worn over spandex? ![]()

This. Wearing a helmet in conditions that call for one is expected. I'm not gonna coplain about a full helmet being worn while walking across a planet lacking an atmosphere. Or toxic. Or highly radioactive. But I like to see a character's face when in conversation, especially in situations where the character is recognized.
Or drinking at a bar.
What about the times when the character is in conversation while on that toxic or radioactive planet? It would be funny without the helmet to see the characters face start melting

I'll deal with kinda seeing the face through a visor or faceplate.
Or maybe we can have one of those fishbowl-like bubble helmets.
I'd like a toggle. TBH I really don't care how "realistic" it is for my character to wear a helmet or not, I like to see her face.

in fairness DAI is a moer fantasy based world so they can get away with it there. In ME however I think we will see armour that looks more like armour .The only characters who may get any trenchcoat type options are likely biotics seeing as they can effectively use their ability as a second barrier somay not need full on armour but again this I think would only be an option that the player can use if they want to.If they prefer full on armour I'd expect it would still be selectable. Personally I liked the trenchcoat style armours but then I've mostly been playing as mages/rogues in DAI anyway so far I've not done any warrior ones yet. I plan to at some stage as it's the only class I've not had a character in yet but I'm not planning on it just yet. As I've already decided what my current run is

Oh Iakus
If this winds up happening I am going to have to shank you.

Nothing, nothing excuses calling the bloody coats in that game heavy armour. It's fine for rogues and mages. Hell, I have one of each and they like their coats just fine. But for warriors it's a ****** travesty. I honestly would have preferred sending my male character into battle in nothing but nipple pasties and a cocksock. At least that would have had comedy potential.
Me, I love helmets. So I prefer to keep my Shepard's fsce behind a mask. I understand what you're saying though. A simple option to toggle a set piece on and off cant be hard to do.
Speaking of helmets, there is one thing I'd like to see in MEA, and there mssk with their own breather mask option. Two helmets from ME2 come to mind.
The kestrel helmet: http://images2.wikia...strelHelmet.png
And the Capacitor helmet: http://vignette3.wik...=20120408224508
Needed their own breather mask option.

You'd probably have to wait in line ![]()
I rather wear an ugly looking helmet that protects my head than wearing some mask that doesn't offer the same protection
Actually you missed point. This was not about how designs of helmets(in must cases) is going to look like,it is about having helmet attached by some armor without option to take it off.Because as I said,we all spend tons of time in CC trying to make "perfect" character in our books that we want, which means none of us spent that many time trying to make face we wanted only to be hidden by helmet without any option of taking it off.
As others said, there should be helmet toggle option like in ME1 when it comes to helmet so you have option of removing helmet if you don't want it and get it back when you want and not being forced to wear helmet with some armor(unless there is specific mission in where you must wear helmet in order to not end up chocking).

So why did you mention it was ugly?

Who is we? I don't spend 'tons' of time. How long is 'tons' of time?

Us?

I have nothing against there being a toggle to remove the helmet
Yeah I didn't really care for the full armor sets having helmets that couldn't be removed. The helmet toggle should affect every suit in ME:A.
Except when you're on an airless rock or a planet with chlorine or some such for an atmosphere, then the helmet stays on. In those situations, the visor should change from opaque to transparent for conversations, it worked just fine in H3: ODST.

Indeed I don't spend tons of time on it 10 minutes 20 at the longest creating my cfharactres for each playthrough I do.
Mmm, kiss my helmet, baby.
Oh my! My friend was literally just telling me that he kept running into scenes during his game where he was kissing with his helmet on, but I could never recall seeing it myself. Probably because of, like, you know, the damn Tali romance, or my renegade never committing to anyone long enough to perform a battle kiss upon them.
That image is amazing though. ![]()
A toggle option for helmets wouldn't hurt for suits but Bioware should also ditch the breather masks since they're useless in the vacuum of space and hazardous environments since KB don't protect against vacuums, chemicals, gases and radiation.
If we can't have catsuits, we can't not be wearing a helmet in combat/anywhere besides our ship. It's not "realistic."
Since ME2 I've wanted Mass Effect to include Dead Space-style armour, with helmets, built into the suit, that extend and retract automatically.
And you should be able to go into the options menu and decide whether your helmet retracts before conversations or not.

We need more stealth armor like this and it has a trench coat!

Never once used set armor... and never once used a helmet in ME. Even in ME2 I went helmetless until you could find the little electronic headpiece one that just covered one eye. That was acceptable.
Helmet toggle should be standard by now I would think.
Lost in space did it first and better lol
That's also cool. I support many different styles of retractable helmet.
It's vital that the aliens of the Andromeda galaxy realize just how badass (i.e. full of themselves) humans are before they even open their mouths. lol

Alien: "What the hell are you?"
Tony Stark Pathfinder: "I'm a god-damn human being. Gaze in awe upon Andromeda's new master race. Not only are we the most diverse and determined species in the universe (according to human fiction, which is never wrong) -- but our dress sense is beyond compare."
*Activates fancy armour.*
Remove the helmet and you remove the FINAL TEASPOON OF REALISM that EBBS THE OCEANS OF SPACE MAGIC flooding the game
In harsh and dangerous environments, I agree with you (kind of like in ME1) as this adds to the immersion and realism of the game. However, in other situations, including combat, I sometimes just want to see their face and head. But this also applies to squad mates. I thought it was totally unrealistic when Miranda only had a breather on that Geth ship in ME2, and no armour or anything protecting her skin from the zero pressure environment of space. SHE WOULD JUST EXPLODE!!
