Here we go again...round 2 of Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts. Or so it seems. What rubbish to run around picking up dog treats...pinging for useless things...working out how to find all your friends.

Gathering god knows how many chapters of Hard In Hightown....and talking of that.."I'll be here if you want me" is all Varric could say.

And that dog looked absolutely terrible...it was much better in Origins than in Trespasser.

Approval -10

But you haven't finished it. How would you know if you dislike something if you haven't finished it?

I was just commenting on the opening bit once you get control. Why does Varric just say.."I'll be here if you want me" when I know he says much more that that...but not to me.

Did I offend him somewhere?

And can someone tell me what to do with those dog treats. Oh wait...maybe it makes the dog horny.

I will finish Trespasser but that opening gets me.

PS: Now Jaws of Hakkon was way, way better. From start to finish. I really enjoyed playing that. I know....don't compare one DLC to another.

Gripe over.

Put them into the dog basket next to Cullen.

I think you have to talk to Varric at the party after you defeat Corypheus and he will tell you about returning to Kirkwall. If that doesn't trigger it, you might have low approval or forgot to do his personal quest.

As for the dog treats, you get a gift from the Mabari if you find them all.

Varric isn't talking to you because he doesn't like you. You need to have been friends with him in the main game to get the scene. Same for most of the other characters.

If you don't like collecting stuff, you don't need to do it. You don't get a lot for it. Or you could do it later on.

Which companions show up even if they hate you? I know Dorian does. And I assume Divine Victoria.

They all show up, except Cole and Blackwall if you didn't complete their personal quests (or anyone you kicked out/left you before the end of the game, obviously). The other ones, even if you didn't have friendship with them they're still there, just don't have much to say to you.

Sera still shows up in the baths during the Spa scene (she's just not selectable as a companion and you can't find her otherwise)

Dorian can still be taken.

Not sure about Vivienne.

I assume Bull's nowhere to be found. Wouldn't make any sense for him to be forced.

Eh Sera didn't show up outside throwing hams during my spa scene. Wasn't selectable, wasn't sitting in the inn. Nada.

Not sure why a non recruited Vivienne or Bull would be any different. (minus even showing up during the throwing hams obv). They only show up if you recruited them and kept them well save Dorian who takes Solas spot for the must have mage I assume.

Bug, maybe? Sera shows up for me on a character that was in the negatives with her. She doesn't say anything, but she's still sitting there.

And I did mention companions who were kicked out or left won't show up, obviously those who weren't even recruited won't be there either.

Odd.

No you didn't mention that not in this thread. You might have thought you did but it's not in your post which is why I clarified.

Or you could avoid the stuff that you don't find fun and just do the fun stuff like talk to companions/actually start the story. Sheesh - no one is forcing you to do the optional stuff like finding dog treats (which are 1) optional and 2) give you stat bonuses if you decide to do them). I don't know what you did with Varric, but I was quite entertained during our chat about Kirkwall and what's he been up to.

You know most of what you are complaining about is optional, right?

Oh, I edited that in a few seconds after posting. Looking at your quote, that part isn't showing, so you were probably already writing your reply while I was editing. Happens; I should remember to use the edit timestamp more often.

In my game, I didn't have enough friendship with Sera to trigger a cutscene, but she was still there are selectable, she just said she didn't want to talk until there was something to talk about. Do they have more than 2 stages of friendship in Trespasser?

Actually, Sera showed up in the Spa in my game after I kicked her out. Can't say I was happy to see her.

I was actually wondering about her. I know there's an ending in the post Corypheus banquet where she says she's leaving to Val Royeaux and says "Wish it had been fun but I'll settle for done." Does she seem at all happy to see the Inquisitor in Trespasser?

I ask because I got a friendly response from her when I saw her, but it wasn't her full cut scene where she offers the Inquisitor the chance to be a Jenny.

^ this.

You don't need the dog treats, or to collect all the easter eggs in the Winter Palace. The first hour is just a gentle catch-up with your companions. Go jump in the eluvian already.

i'm tempted to just call a "bugs, bugs everywhere" card here. That can't have been intended.

I think she just had a generic bark like op mentions Varric's or something. Can't tell you for sure now because that was the only save where I wasn't at full friendship with Sera and I didn't wanna linger around and be reminded of that, lol.

I've seen you use a lot of Inquisitor reaction images around the BSN and I have to ask: do you have an image for every reaction? (also your inquisitor - I assume she's yours - is amazing and you should feel proud of her).

It was really weird, as if Sera was just sort of stalking the Inquisition 2 years after they fired her. Maybe they just really wanted to include that Funny Background Event for the spa scene and didn't really think about a scenario where Sera isn't with the Inquisition?

You are right. I shall bear that in mind.
