I played a Dalish so he was supposed to spy...So I just assume he was busy spying and going where he wasn't supposed to go.
Of course when he heard a grandma crying for help , he rushed to the rescue.
Obviously he could have been better at the whole rescue thing if he had a weapon , and just didn't open the door and asked out loud "What's going on here!" just to find the room full of wardens and a giant Darkspawn.
But hey at least he's still alive and was not beaten to death so something turned out alright.Except that whole rescue the grandma thing.
Yeah the whole conclave idea sounded like a swell plan but it didn't really turn out that great for anyone. After all Quizzy has to do to survive (Minister Bellise, etc.) they still lose an arm.
The moral of the story could be don't pick up other peoples shiny glowing ball even to save grandma or you will lose an arm. Although I guess it might have worked out worse if we didn't. Moot point because who can resist shiny even if it was from a creepy looking darkspawn dude but I try not to judge who Her Most Holy invites to her private chambers after hours.
