Might be old news, I'm not really sure, but here's a weird one:

 

If you kill a pet, like a Cerberus Turret, it doesn't count towards the Kill medal, weapon kill medal, melee kill medal, tech kill medal, or Biotic kill medal.

 

But if you get an assist on a pet like a Cerberus Turret, it does count towards the assist medal.

 

 

Score-w**res take note: Seek assists versus pets, instead of kills. I wouldn't steer you wrong. This is valuable meta-info here. You read it, you can't un-read it.
