He pretended he was a tenderhearted little dork at first, then did a 180 and became an insufferable little jerk to literally everyone who actually cared about him. First he dumped his girlfriend like a moldy dinner roll, in the most humiliating possible way in front of all of their companions because she's barren, then treated his own mother like crap and exiled her. After ten years he still hasn't found another woman, so I hope it was worth it. Failing that, if he stayed a warden he still left her at some point, because ten goddamn years obviously means absolutely nothing to this rat scab.

 

Plus the only way you could have him not die was to have him pork and knock up another woman... which he does willingly but still won't be with you anymore. And he treats his mother like trash.

 

Seriously, to hell with this guy, he's a limp weenie and twit with zero respect for the opposite sex. Always dead in my game, that's the only way I can possibly like him.

My guess is very dedicated troll. I never romanced Alistair but I thought he was a solid companion, especially after getting him hardened. Prior to that? OK , he was a bit whiny, but consider the circumstances. Hate a video game character? What for?
