Sheesh, 6 years and two games later, you're still beating that dead horse, TBE. Here, I'll even post a singalong for you if the words are too hard to remember.

Every romance ends up bad. If not, just wait for the next game.
Oh so nice, we got to marry Cullen ! Next Dragon Age, Cullen is now a butterfly.

I'm amazed Zevran remained alive and loyal over the span of 3 games. Fenris seems well too for the moment.
After all these years Alistair is still causing butthurt!
Funny isn't it. I just make him king, and didn't romance anyone as a female. Played as a male picked Morrigan just so I could have the god baby family for a few years.

I don't think Zevran is loyal. Does he offer to have s_x with Isabella and Hawk?

It's a bug they never fixed. If romanced he was not supposed to be able to flirt with you. People were able to trigger it by messing with the files.
Alistair. Does. Not. Suck. ...... *glares around menacingly*

Although the Warden i romanced him would be totally ok with that
Isabela knows this.

LOL my Amell, Zev and Izzy had a nice time together at the Pearl. I love her comment about it in DA2 about knowing the HOF "if you know what I mean"

Do they HAVE to change?
Characters in games change because you change them. Isn't that unrealistic?
You're misinterpreting me. They don't have to change, and they don't have to change because of you. But if their character is just static, it may be uninteresting. Also, characters changing because of you isn't inherently unrealistic, no.
That's because unlike most of the other DA companions, Vivienne isn't a damaged personality with any of the assortment of abandonment, attachment, intimacy, trust, and/or other emotional issues that the rest do. She doesn't need you to function or evolve as a person; she's fine as she is. She might be a egotist and a megalomaniac, but she's dependent on no-one.
Again, I wasn't saying the Inquisitor had to change her, only that I thought her being both static and unlikeable made her a boring character.
Dorian is the worst character? If we are just talking companions, I thought Iron Bull was the worst.
Me, too. Mainly because of the unrealistic oversexualisation.
Same thing with Zevran. The guy was supposed to be a proficient assassin - exotic, cool and efficient, as shown in his original concept art - but became this promiscuous, smooth-talking Latin lover during production.
My guess? Bioware made it a priority to create player sexual characters instead of cool ones full of personality and with an interesting origin.
Bull could have been an awesome character, a way to understand the Qun and their unique philosophy, much like Sten was. I LOVED the constant arguing with Sten because it constituted a challenge to my Warden. Same thing with Loghain. He wouldn't agree with you simply because you showered him with gifts and picked the right options during dialog. He had PERSONALITY. And that's what characters who are changed to better appeal to the player don't have.

Her,Josephine and also Cassandra
Not to mention there are hordes of entrances to the surface from the deeproads it's impossible for the warden to cover them all. The darkspawn would come up from somewhere. DAO tells you this is impossible when you ask Alistair why don't they just go to the deep roads and kill the archedemons.
The Architect did found the dragon god he could have killed him in his sleep, but he didn't.

The Architect has the benefit of being a darkspawn and thus having no reason to stop and rest (no need for food or sleep, no fears of the blight, fellow darkspawn were too stupid to attack him (they'd attack wardens though) during his search (and the benefit of having pretty much an unlimited amount of time to search for said archedemon). The same doesn't apply to the wardens.

I... think you might have missed the point of both Zevran and Bull. All you have to do is scratch the very flimsy veneer of "oversexualization" (and maybe examine why they wear that mask in the first place) to find the characters you're looking for.
So true. If given the chance both Zev and Bull can be the most romantic and loyal people ever if you are good to them. I've romanced both and loved their happy endings.
I let Alistair marry Anora, because he hates her - so my warden doesn't have to worry about him falling for her; And kings and queens often had lovers because their spouses were chosen for political reasons - any romance they found was outside of marriage!. History isn't full of Mills and Boons romances people.
