Does this schematic drop before you start Trespasser? I've been save scumming the Trials rewards chest, and have got everything multiple times, but never this one. The non-crafted version only drops in Trespasser.

Yes, it drops from Trials reward. In fact, it was first schematic I got from special shipment.

Your link doesn't work as the forum's url-tag has a grudge against '

Yep, I got it the other day. However, from the DAwiki I've noticed that the rewards are level gated to pre- and at/post- level 13. BUT it doesn't say that the schematics are level gated. However, I'm level 11 now and gotten everything I wanted from that range, including this schematic. I was farming for the Knight's Second schematic, but that won't drop for me after repeated reloads. I'm wondering if the schematics are also level gated, particularly since the dagger is T2 and the shield is T3, and they won't want people crafting high-end stuff too early.

You can save scum Trial Rewards?

You can save scum Trial Rewards?

You sure can. Just do a save right there in the Undercroft and keep reloading until you get what you want. Keep in mind that if there are two or more things in there that you will automatically loot everything -- there is no "leaving one thing in the chest and reload." And once you finally DO get your desired item, if you want something else you will need to wait for another trials reward to scum for the next thing. But the save scumming is also useful if say, you want double Leeches daggers for Cole or yourself (or hell, quadruple if you're both dagger rogues), the staff for all your mages, and so on. You will get duplicate items, minus the schematics. You can also wait until you have multiple rewards in the chest to increase your chances of getting the thing(s) you want.

As a Casual mode player not interested in achievements and the like, I've found that the easiest/safest method for getting trials rewards is to use Rest Easy (lose all focus when you return to camp), Rub Some Dirt on It (all potions only heal 1 health), Travel Light (all supply caches -- potion refills -- are removed from the game), and Take It Slow (half XP -- I will turn this off at level 13). I even killed the Hinterlands dragon at level 11 with the potion thing activated, so depending on your actual gear it's not too horrible.

Dammit, I think you might be right. I've been lvl 27 during all my scumming for the dagger schem. I got the shield though, so that's confirmed as a high level drop

Better just to dupe a single drop, otherwise you're wasting a drop slot

Why? You can get two different things, or two of the same thing, or three or four, and so on. But it all depends on what you're going for. If you're looking for those elemental belts for all your mages, it's certainly worthwhile farming multiple drops because you need so many and there IS a chance you will get multiples of the items you need.

But my point about duplicates was to simply say that the game will give you the same item more than once, rather than remembering you got it and never dropping it again.

I think we're talking at cross-purposes. What I meant is that if you get say two Leeches in one multiple Trials drop, you'd be better off reloading until you get one Leech + one something else you need. Because you only ever need one Leech to dupe as many as you'll ever need (you could get hundreds if you wanted to). So why not get something else instead of another one of the same item? That's all.

But yes, you're right about the multiple drops. I got 3 Bow of Artifices in one drop once.

I really need to come out from under my current MP rock, and play with some trials. Love this schematic (and some of the others I have seen!)

Ok, just to confirm, this schematic is only available at low levels. It just dropped for me at lvl 5, after only 4 reloads. It's a decent T2 AoE dagger, though the best thing about it is how it looks.

btw The Hinterlands is great for early game trials reward grinding. The best area is where all the mages and templars are fighting near the starting area. You have an unlimited supply of enemies as long as you don't raid their strongholds, so with all trials on you get rewards pretty fast. Fallow Mire's good too, also because infinite enemies.
