You know, at first I thought that was just trolls trying to discredit D, but now it looks like this was probably true.

Hey now! I was talking about back in the day when I first started posting. I think it was Kenny or Bouli who said it then.

And Space, I hate to say it but, you aren't "clean" yourself. You used, way back in the day, the lvl 20 switch on zone 5. That, in your terms, is unethical in this game but it was done. It was an illegitimate way to promote faster. This is just another one of those, just as the x2 exp was
Oh, there we go. Just like Piffle and Kmeeg have told me in the past defending the quadruple Exp exploit practice. Simply because I and everyone else used to transfer earned XP from a level 20 to a level 1 character back in the beginning of the year, anything can be legitimized today, including modding the game. Seriously Bruh? We all know there is quite a difference in the advantage one earns here.
Besides, that was unethical, it was dirty, it was patched (around April if I recall correctly), it is not done anymore. And that hasn't helped me being on the top of the Leaderboards since June. Anyway, nice try.

But it did help with promotions, you can't deny that. Promoted faster than intended so it was, in fact, an exploit.

Most people who know me, know that I have never been really able to afford to play the game for that much time as it may seem, usually 6, 7 hours or so a night.
You really have no idea how much time that is. That's how skewed your perspective is. Some people don't even find two hours in a weekend, despite being regular players.
The reality is the majority of players will never get to max defense...even after 1000 hours.
This, totally this. The majority of them won't even get anywhere close, let alone what's currently required to touch the end game. I hate that.
As for exploits, I personally consider spawn camping an exploit, but until recently I had though a necessary one to perform because teammates cannot progress fast enough to make up the gap in gear, promotes and skill to complete otherwise. I no longer think that spawn camping is necessary because I can arm them.
I didn't play during the fast exp exploit months. I didn't like it, and was busy doing other stuff. I lost imaginary leaderboard rank-- but really, that never mattered since I was OP regardless and the scrub lords remained scrubs.
The leaderboard is a dirty place. If you're on there at the top, you've done stuff others will find unethical whether its the class change early on, spawn camping, class build whoring, or any number of things I haven't even mentioned. It isn't a nice place and inherently an unfair thing.

It helped me with promotions. It was an exploit. Are you trying to tell me that is equal to modding the game?

I totally agree with this part. It does not justify cheating, but I can't deny that Bioware terribly miscalculated progression in this game.

If there are no mods, I give you my sincere apologies.
Now, what is your current Exp/Hour exploit? Would you mind sharing it with us? Does it have to do with your eagerness of having the Exp cap removed?

I exploit this game like crazy, I do every little thing to increase my exp/hr and it pays off.
Let me say though, I did not start exploiting for exp/hr until I learned the games mechanics. I benefit from that not only by having higher promotes but being able to play smart, using it all to my advantage. I learned to play first
I just run through. No exploit
What you do lol, support and damage
I am a little confused now. Would you care to explain?

I guess wording is important. I would do exploits such as lvl 20 swap, x2 exp, x4 exp but those aren't around so just have to Spawn camp etc for exp/hour increase

I'll just add that I have nothing against exploiters as long as they keep it to themselves and not ruin the experience for other players. If someone wants to exploit a few promotions then that's OK, but ruining the leaderboards is not.

Not that my opinion matters to anyone outside my own head, but I have to say that I find this kind of exploit rather distasteful. Call me crazy but I prefer to enjoy (or not, as the case may be) a game as the creators intended it - especially when it is multiplayer.
I couldn't care less what people do in their own Private games in a noncompetitive game such as DAMP though; just please keep this kind of thing out of games if you're going to open it up to the public. You're not even playing the same game any longer with some of the exploits like this, it is utterly ridiculous.
(Not picking on the OP by the way. If he only does it in Private game then whatever floats his boat. I've been getting quite a few obvious hackers in Public games lately though and it is very, very annoying. When someone can insta-kill the entirety of NM Wave 5 as soon as they spawn with a single Frost Step you've reached the point of ruining the game play for me. Thanks.)

If you happen to come across any of these hackers, please write down their origin IDs. I know a few people who might just be doing what you've exactly described here

Pretty much. Personally that goes on my long list of disappointments regarding DAMP but I still try to enjoy the game for what it is, not what I wish it could be.

Yep. 6-7 hours a day is an absolute no go for me. I can, occasionally, get more than 2 hours over the course of an entire weekend but I have to fight for it. Too many other demands on my time. On a regular evening, I might get a match or two in.

Would you do still 2x Exp and 4x Exp exploits today if you had the chance? Are those exploits equivalent to transferring earned exp from a level 20 to a level 1?
I don't know why there are people who have tried to convince me that they are equal. While both are unethical, they aren't at the same level. One allowed lazy players like myself to play Perilous as level 20 rather than level 1 for one game, back when it took 8-10 Perilous games per promotion, with virtually no increase in Exp/Hour rate since it would take the same amount of games to promote anyway. The other allowed people to promote in just two perilous games for five weeks straight, four times faster than anyone else and therefore reaching levels on the Leaderboards where they should not be at were they legit players (before people criticize me for caring obsessively about the Leaderboards, they should firstly criticize those who cheated their way to get there, because they seem to care more than I do if they are willing to corrupt themselves).
They are different. Just like what Drasca is trying to present in this thread, while being an exploit, it is not breaking the community's integrity, nor is leaving and rejoining games to Fade escape, something which I had criticized before but acknowledge not to be a big deal.
At least, it is seems like both you and I completely agree that game modding is off limits.

Yes I would still do it if it was there, all these way are faster for promoting. And I never said I was against modding, just don't use them in public matches. Keep it private

I stopped caring about the integrity of the game when BW completely disregarded the integrity of some of its player base.
