Would be weird if it was true.

Seen this in a column; Video Death's We Can't Get Over (sry I forgot the writer's name, credit to them)

Yourself - Dragon Age: Inquisition

In the ultimate video gaming Sophie's choice, Dragon Age: Inquisition imports your main characters from both Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II - and then forces you to decide which one of them dies. And no, the sadistic monsters at BioWare will not pay for your resulting therapy bills.

Instead of Stroud you use the Warden. They could have actually worked that into the game.

Ahem:

Inquisition's story would make no sense if the HoF was directly involved.

First, there's the whole Grey Wardens arc: they all disappear because Clarel pulled rank on all the southern Wardens: if the HoF is still present, there's two commanders in the South and at the very least the Fereldan Grey Wardens wouldn't have disappeared: meeting the HoF alone in a cave instead than in Vigil's Keep with the Fereldan Wardens and Amaranthine's military at his/her beck and call would make no sense.

And then, there's the whole explosion at the Conclave: it happens because Corypheus used Wardens enthralled to him to sneak in and capture the Divine. Except the HoF was Justinia's first choice to helm the Inquisition, which means that had the HoF remained in Ferelden, s/he would already have been proclaimed Inquisitor and would have been present, with troops loyal to him/her with the Divine. Corypheus could have tried to get to the Divine anyway, but instead of taking everyone by surprise, he would have been intercepted by highly trained Darkspawn killers who would have sensed his presence from miles away: at the very least the Conclave would have been evacuated while the HoF and co kept Corypheus busy.

The way the story was written, the Warden simply couldn't be involved since their very absence is the root cause of many main story arcs

Perhaps. But some things to point out to be the Devil's Advocate here;

Hawk was also missing after DA:2 and the excuse was made that Varric knew all along.

HoF (like Alistair) is off searching for 'something' one red lyrium the other a cure to the calling. Either could represent the other.

Hawke could have met HoF just as easy as Alistair or Logain.

Only the Grey Wardens from Orlais under Warden Commander Clarel are mentioned, Oghren, Sigrun, and Velanna are not there either.

HoF holds the same rank as Clarel. just in Ferelden, would have told Clarel to get lost.

So at the end of the day the HoF could have been Hawke's contact in the Wardens as easy as any of them. Also I just posted an article by a writer who obviously didn't play the game. In my opinion Warden Stroud and Nathaniel Howe were the only Wardens Hawke met in the game. IMO it should have been one of them or her brother/sister if they were made a warden. I did not mean any offense in this post to anyone's Warden
