Are you actually using the Increased Inventory mod that's been updated for patch 8 onwards?  Is your speicalisation mod actually compatible with later patches of the game?  Are you using mod manager .59?  Do you check for updates regualy with the DAI Tools Suit loader? Did you use Force Rescan of Patch the first time you merged with patch 11?   I'm sorry to keep repeating myself but I need to know what steps you've already taken or I can't help you.  The implication I'm getting from your posts is that you're using outdated mods, and your lack of knowledge about DAI modding leads me to believe that you're not using the Tools Suit Loader (which, as I've stated before, is nessessary for DAI modding).

You can install your game and change graphics as much as you like but without the things I've mentioned your game will not work.

Of course I did all those steps that you mentioned.  SEE HERE?

I find it extremely curious that throughout the game---until you reach the campsite after the Battle at Haven---which the game transitions perfectly to and through all of the cutscenes without a single glitch, it crashes here!?! Yet the only response that I have gotten here is that it is because of broken mods, with no further explanation. Curious!

I'm a big fan of modding, but it's the user's responsibility to make them work. BioWare cannot accommodate your mods because it doesn't know what they are.

I've crashed Skyrim with mods tons of times. That the game supports modding just means the mods are easier to make, not that they'll work better.

When a game gets patched, sometimes you need to update your mods. Or maybe a mod you're using was never compatible with that specific scene. If you didn't make the mod yourself, how would you know?

Your entitled attitude would only be justified if you made the mods yourself, and you knew they worked in that cutscene before.

It doesn't need to be explained more than it already has. This particular glitch ONLY happens with a modded game. There is no report of it happening in an un-modded game that I can find. Anyone that did have it, stopped having it once they removed or updated the mods that were causing it, or ran that scene on a clean merged patch.

Iff you follow the insructions from that Nexus thread I posted  for how to make a clean merged patch and/or the advice others here have given you, boom, all your problems solved.

Just because you don't understand the why, doesn't make it less so. It really doesn't have to be as hard as you're making this.

Didn't read through the whole thread but i had the same problem myself. I disabled the mods and loaded just fine, i also had a screen lock when i entered the deep roads for the first time, disabled mods and it loaded up just fine. The only mods i had was the elf body tweak ( to stop the broken U shpaed arms) and a few hair mods.

Except that when I first started playing DA: I, when it first came out, and I had no mods installed at the time my game did, in fact, stall at that very point with a white screen. And, it was because of my nVidia card.

Well....well....well! Darn! Today is a good day after all. I was able to get to Skyhold without having to disable my two mods: "Increased Inventory Capacity and Unlock Specializations." Wonders never cease!

I know!  I was sweating bullets for awhile there. It is, however, sad that the other mods that I had installed, along with the two that I have now, don't work.  Incidentally, just so everyone knows the screen did flash white, but only for a second. I don't know if that means anything? Thanks to everyone for their help and seemingly not so pleasant criticism, both the good and the bad.

I have gotten really spoiled with utilizing mods for my games and I really do appreciate all of the modders out there and the hard work that they put into their mods. Moreover, I have been known to pay for some mods as well. The reason that I love using the "Increased Inventory Capacity" mod is rather twofold. Being able to be out there playing and gathering dropped items and items from chest is a bit like mining for gold: And, the longer you can remain out there exploring and  scavenging, the more gold you can collect. As for the "Unlock Specifications" mod I like the edge that it gives you, in the beginning, when you're in a fight.

When Fallout 4 comes out on November 10th, like it was with Skyrim, there  will be a few mods already available, I am sure. In the meantime I will continue to play DA: I and Mass Effect 3 multiplayer. Thank you.

Good to hear. This is one of the reasons I haven't loaded any mods. Fallout4 should be fun.

I love Bethesda Softworks games, because they are so mod friendly. Plus, even I can use and understand the Creation Kit. Although, the only mods that I ever made with the Creation Kit were all about changing the look of NPCs. Even today I have changed several of the characters in Skyrim; for personal use only. I changed the look of Serana and some of her stats, for one, for example. Furthermore, I still have a game going in DAO. (I had to retire from full time work because of Cancer and thus have a lot of time on my hands--that and I am divorced and single. About all I can do now is work a desk job: And, I was a jack-of-all-tradesman most of my life.)  Everything that I have learned about computers, from building them to website design and some modding, I have learned on my own.  Thanks for responding.

I love Skyrim as well. I heavily modded the game but only several years after it was released. I didn't want to deal with all the upgrade changes, and how they play with the mods. Even in Skyrim you can have mods conflict with one another. To be honest even LOOT made mistakes sorting the mods. It is just so much easier with a game that has been out for a few years, and was designed to be a sandbox. I'm hoping Fallout will also be a sandbox.

I understand that it is suppose be much like Skyrim, in that it would be an open world. With all of the mods that I have installed in DAO and in Skyrim one can only rate them "G" for Grandpa.

Didn't nVidia have a driver update that caused a memory leak? Did they correct the problem? I thought I read something about it.

I knew they had a problem months ago, but not recently that I am aware of.

With all due respect but mod conflichts are unavoidable :D

One is not allowed to talk about modding skyrim without having those two badass in the game:

Chew Chew Chew Mod train is coming.

On a more serious: You are right. Modding has to be done with some caution, backups, auto updates disabled. If not doing so one can't blame the devs.

Yes, and the are much easier to deal with in Bethesda games. At least it is for me.

Even the most mod-friendly devs, such as Bethesda, never guarantee that patches won't break your mods. This just can't be done, there are way too many variables.

Because Bethesda actively encourages modding, and designs their games to allow it.

BioWare now uses an engine whose designers bragged about it being unmoddable, as if that were a good thing.

That's an apples to oranges comparison.  Yes, it sucks that DAI isn't more easily moddable, but that was never a design objective.

Design objective or not Bioware doesn't hold a candle to Bethesda. That's just my own opinion.

On the modding front, no one disagrees with you.

My point is that your conclusion isn't even vaguely news. Of course BethSoft offers better mod support.

Yes, they do. BethSoft has learned a lot from modders and they have implemented some of that knowledge into their games. BethSoft is even making modding available on some consoles with the upcoming Fallout 4 game.  (Of which I had pre purchased months ago.) Bioware used to be mod friendly but they changed once they were bought out by Electronic Arts. I believe in the very near future EA/Bioware will turn away from the PC and produce strictly arcade console games. And, that is just fine with me. I will save a little money.

That was months ago when patch 6 came out. I stopped playing. When I returned from my summer vacation I started playing again, knowing that some of the mods now worked. That was when it was still Patch 11. I was playing a game then. At that time I had six mods installed and it worked just fine, I got to Skyhold.  (The screen flashed white, but kicked in.) Then Patch 12 came out and I uninstalled the game and performed a clean install; and then reinstalled the same mods. This time, however, I cannot get past the white screen no matter what I do. And, I have done it all.

At this point I do not want to start again from scratch. Not only is it exceedingly time consuming to do so, but after all of the hard work that it took to get where I am in this game, starting over again sickens me. More importantly, it is not worth the stress. I have several other games I can play while I wait for Fallout 4 to come out next month. And, that game I know will play.

The issues are the mods. What version are they and did the makers up date them for the newest patch? Check that before complaining.
