Sorry if I'm over-posting, especially starting new threads. Just excited to get to talk with other people about my favorite gaming trilogy (third favorite trilogy ever behind Indiana Jones and Lord of the Rings).
What made you laugh out loud? What made you cry?
The wife and I cried when Grunt sends Shepard and company down the cave and takes on the rachni himself so they can escape ("My turn."). The music there cued just right, and I realized I was weeping profusely watching a giant two-legged lizard beating up giant bugs. But that just goes to show you the power of the story. Fortunately, Grunt made it back out on that playthrough.
I teared up when Joker bade his farewells to Shepard just before London. There's just some kind of man moment (I usually play male Shep) when Joker gets serious enough to salute Shepard.
Finally, I teared up when Anderson says his last words to Shepard as they are sitting on the Citadel. The "You did good, son. I'm proud of you" line just gets me. Something about father-son-proud-of-you-kind-of-lines. Guess that was why Last Crusade was my favorite Indy film. I was bummed at how ignominiously Anderson passed; he was Mass Effect's Obi-wan Kenobi. Wise, sacrificing, able to hold his own, punching ambassadors...Too bad they couldn't make him a squadmate in the Citadel DLC somehow! I still play his speech to Shepard after Thessia to myself on lousy days.
Anyway, there's some of my cry moments. Guess I didn't do any laugh moments yet, but I'll save those for a later post. Most of them involve Mordin. ![]()
