I just recently got into the Dragon Age games. I have a Mac, have been playing DA2, and have been planning to set up a Windows partition so I can play the other two games.

A couple days ago, I got a notification from Amazon saying that Awakening was available for download for Mac. I didn't realize at the time that you need DA:O to run Awakening, and I've been really excited to play it, so I purchased it. Of course, you can't run Awakening without Origins -- and Origins isn't available for Mac anywhere, as far as I can find it.

Will Origins ever be available on Mac again? Does anyone know why it stopped being available in the first place? Or did I just waste $20 on content I can't run because there is no way for me to obtain the platform?

Hey.

Experiencing similar frustrations, although mine are more: wanting to actually buy DA:O in the first place for Mac. Like you, I have had ridiculous trouble trying to get a copy.

Not on steam, no longer on Amazon, no longer on Gamersgate, and all the links listed on the official bioware page are now dead.

So hey, there's TWO COPIES of the game they could sell already...

As you discovered, it appears that Origins is no longer available for OS X (you'd need to contact EA customer service to inquire why it's been removed).

You can probably get a refund from Amazon if you contact them.
