I'm thinking about doing a play through wher Shepard starts out as a full Paragon

but he descends into being a renegade and losing his way and by the third game he is fully gone down a dark path and becoming someone he doesn't recognize. Has anyone played this way?

No, but I've done 1/2 that.

ME1 - Almost Full Paragon.

ME2 - Very High Paragon, but now more open to making Renegade decisions at times.

ME3 - Not exactly 'Descent' into Renegade, but rather a breaking through of previous limitations and not confined to a single direction. Generally 2/3 Paragon but 1/3 Renegade.

So I didn't go 'Dark Path' as I'd call it, but I did go more violent and strained and dedicated to victory and survival.

If I can replace my broken GPU, I do have at least one 'Descent Into Darkness' playthrough considered. Not a purely 'everything sucks' thing, but definitely in the direction you described there.

Hm... Interesting idea!

I actually have thought of doing that, TBH. Seeing how the Reapers' Arrival and the loss of Earth and friends impact Shepard's mind.

But the game doesn't acknowledges if you've gone down on a Dark Road. The only thing closer to that is when in ME2 on Garrus Loyalty mission, if you say him to calm down but in ME1 went fully renegade/bottom choices with him, he'll say that is surprised to hear you say that since it was actually you that influenced him in being that way.

I think its sometimes self-evident. Like showing mercy often in ME2 but shooting Mordin in the back in ME3 (though I didn't do that).

I'm actually thinking of replaying the games and I'm very interested in something kind of like what you described. I don't want to be full renegade, but I'm thinking of breaking away from the full paragon I usually play. I've played the games a bunch but never get the nerve to go renegade lol XD.

You can play a full renegade with having only 1 or 2 squadmates die depending on what you do in your playthrough
