As time goes by and Jessica Chobot slides deeper to even further obscurity...

Her inclusion in ME3 has gone from awful to awful, dated and confusing.

You could say she sticks out like a sore thumb but you know what a thumb is. This is something that you have to google to know/remember.

I hope BioWare have learned the dangers of stunt casting.

Diana Allers, the character, is okay. Would have been better to have a choice/outcome of the other two reporters we're familiar with though.

Her character story (with optional conclusion of the email she sends you) is... interesting. Ish.

But Chobot being used, especially in this way, was disappointing to say the very least.

Yeah, never liked her inclusion. We already had a character that could have filled the same exact role, and be more emotionally invested in her reporting because we already knew her.

But she died on twitter.

Did anyone like her inclusion? My first playthrough I was wondering who in the world this person was and what happened to Emily Wong. It wasn't until much later that I found out she was an actual person.

The problem was with how the other reporters we've come to know have been treated, instead of having the option of picking

a)Dianna Allers

b)Emily Wong

c)Al Jilani

See, poor Emily Wong died in a Twitter(You got an in-game e-mail about that, but it says "communications lost")

And you can confort Al Jilani for the first time ever in the ME Trilogy but then she is a War Asset.

So, that leaves us with Dianna Allers. But then again, there IS a option to never speak to her, so I don't see how many people complain that Dianna Allers is forced into you.

I always take in Diana Allers only for completion's sake. It's just that her character was largely pointless. Could have been filled with someone else.

The funny thing is most of the hair mods just use her hair slot, so she ends up looking like a radiation patient if you use something like the glamorous hair mod heh.

I just use the Diana Allers Be Gone Mod, and she's not in the game. I didn't know anything about her until I started reading reviews after I'd played. I had her on the ship in my first playthrough and, well, I was not impressed.

I always take Allers along as well......just so that I can then kick her off the ship. My only regret is that you can't do it literally, out of the airlock. One of the things I liked about ME3 and think worked really well, was the new characters - like Traynor, Cortez and Vega. Allers though, I may actually dislike her more than Space Casper.....

I do like the interviews with Diana Allers. It sort of reminds you that the galaxy is going to hell. But I would've preferred one of the known reporters. I liked Al Jilani, but the game always presented her in a confrontational way. Sure some reporters are dicks, but not all.

Maybe that's why Emily Wong was killed off.

Shame, i liked her and would have preferred her to be on my ship because i would never kick her off.

I never had a beef with the Diana Allers character or with the fact that it was Jessica Chobat who played her.  Never got the internet's overreaction to her being in the game.

I remember when there was a time that people despised al-Jilani. Harhar.

(I went the Paragon route with her throughout all three games.)

I don't think it's awful exactly. And I pity Bioware more than her. The fact that they think their own gamers care about this stuff is what's bad to me. Who do they get their advice from? They tap into stuff like IGN or Felicia Day. I don't have anything against them (Felicia is pretty cool in Supernatural at least), but it just seems like off-the-mark pandering or something.

I don't know. If they are going to pander, they got it right with Adam Baldwin in ME2.... Unfortunately they screwed up by barely using him. And killed him offscreen in ME3.

Probably more like.. most of us saw a thread bumped and were bored enough to post.

But that's probably sad too. So you're partly right. ;)

The few times I had her on the ship was for the extra dialogue Samantha has when talking to Allers.

Too bad Wong couldn't be on the ship or even Al Jihani

Actually why was Jessica Chobot in the game? I just assumed someone at BW was banging her.

More of a publicity stunt in the end.

Chobot's involved with the Nerdist, I think. If you actually want to Youtube that kind of thing. I just didn't like her little bandwagon with her cronies at IGN and her less than sincere apology to fans regarding ME3's ending controversy. It just sounded like, "Sorry, I guess. Whatever."

I have her on the ship just so I can interrupt her broadcasts. "Breaking neCommander."  :P And I, of course, boot her off eventually.

1. She isn't an actress. Her line delivery is just awful. I can't believe anyone at Bioware would say, "Okay, that's good. Let's go with that take." On... almost everything she says.

2. Emily Wong's twitter death. The hell? I mean, just what the hell?

3. Khalisa. Total wasted opportunity here as well. Imagine the character depth/development if you had punched her in the previous games, then invite her to be the reporter on the Normandy. You could have gone from grudging acceptance to actual friendship and (dare I say it?) an eventual romance. Obviously, it would be harder to romance her if you punched her previously. But, no. We got Allers.

I just can't stand the modelling of her face. Jessica Chobot is an attractive lady but her in game model makes her face look as if she's been stung by a swarm of bees.

Agreed, something just looks...off about her.

One time, she licked a PSP. And then the internet happened.

The rest is history.

I always ignore Diana Allers, regardless of the benefits she can provide. I just really dislike her character.

I would have been very happy if we were able to recruit Emily Wong for our adventures. Heck, I would've even preferred Khalisah al-Jilani, and I didn't even like her (punch!), but she was more tolerable than Diana Allers.

I would have preferred Emily Wong but as I didn't know Jessica Chobot, Allers was just another character to me. Not a very good one but I wouldn't hold it against Chobot, she didn't write it.
