Which do you think is better, I'm trying to decide: Immobilize for 5 seconds or Sleep for 20?

An immobilize isn't exactly a stun is it?

I've always stuck with sleep for 20.  It's a great way to start a fight sleeping a priority target like a mage, keeping him out of for the large portion of the fight.  And in this rare instance, DA:I's AI is actually helpful because your teammates won't attack sleeping targets!

immobilize ftw. sleep usually get's broken after like 2 seconds as someone will attack the sleeping target.

well perhaps they upgraded the ai in recent patches.

Just depends on what kind of enemy you're up against. Sleep won't do anything against a single target unless you can detonate it. Immobilize won't do much against ranged enemies since they can still attack freely without having to move.

I always found this skill upgrade lacking due to the vast amount of CC otherwise available in the game. Having 2 different CC options for this skill is also kinda redundant. IMO using the skill point anywhere else is probably better.

IIRC, it already knocks enemies down without even being upgraded, which is actually better than immobilize or sleep in a lot of cases (ranged enemies are more effectively neutralized by it, and you can keep attacking an enemy that's been knocked down without removing the CC).

Good point, knocking enemies down is good on its own. I might just leave that skill un-upgraded then.

Thanks for the advice, everyone!

I take the sleep upgrade.

Even with a basic combo, that will boost the damage of Full Draw over the other upgrade, which basically just keeps them in place. But that's not really that helpful imo.

Both tend to be useless on bosses.

It's always been like this, although if you have a party with lots of AoE (especially things like chain lightning) then CC's will tend to get broken. For example, in Tac Cam, left clicking an enemy, pressing full draw with sleep upgrade, then left clicking another enemy will result in a CC on that enemy and then a target switch and no other other AI party members will deliberately target the sleeping enemy.

The caveat is that the AI checks that whether the target is actually sleeping already.

If they are already running at an enemy to hit him and you use full draw, then it will get broken as they won't decide what to do next until after that hit has landed.
