Vanguard is my favorite, followed by Adept and Infiltrator.

Vanguard for me; I'm doing my Insanity ME2 run with Vanguard and it hasn't been too impossible yet. Kind of feels like I'm a battlemage, too? Also since I romance Kaidan it's kind of cool that we're both biotics, but he had those old implants or whatever, so it's like this awkward thing between us lol

Played Infiltrator for the first time on ME1 and it was pretty fun (I hated the way he looked in ME2 though so didn't import him, sigh).

Only other class I've played is, of course, soldier.

Depended on my characters. Male Spacer was an Engineer, Male Earth Born a Vanguard, Female Colonist an Infiltrator. Unfortunately, I can't pick a favorite, as I loved all three.

Why doesn't the adept have charge?

I guess for the same reason the soldier doesn't have stealth. If you're gonna have classes, it's probably best not to have too much overlap. Biotic charge is the Vanguard's signature power. It wouldn't make sense for other classes to have it. Besides, Adepts are the most specialized at using their powers from a distance.

Infiltrator all the way! Although with each game it loses more of its characteristics... :/

Well... ME3 MP had varying shades of the classes. So while I might lean towards and overall class, there are definitely some honorable mentions. N7 Fury is God-like. So is the N7 sentinel (whose name I forgot since its been a long freaking time since I played MP). There's also something so nice about turning invisible and reviving a downed teammate with an infiltrator - being invisible in ME3 felt soooo good. With that said, my favorite:

Adept > soldier = infiltrator > sentinel = engineer >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> vanguard.

Someone posted they don't understand why soldiers get so much love - I will never understand why vanguard players have this extreme dedication to their class. Way too risky. Plowing into someone and blasting their face with a shotgun doesn't sound appealing in any way. To each their own.

It's their inner wolverine coming to the fore.  I never got it myself, I always wanted to be the one standing back flinging cosmic power from afar, not face tanking enemies in melee range, but that's part of my own coward nature.

But seriously, melee lovers, learn your effing place !!!!!!

....   oh, that wasn't nice.  There I go again, the god complex comes shining through.

I know you jest but it brings up a issue I see often.

I think it's a mistake to equate popularity with power. D&D has made this mistake continually making the cleric one of the if not the most powerful class in the game to boost its popularity. It doesn't work outside a small group of gamers only concerned with power. People just don't like the themes or roles of the class.

Engineer is probably the most powerful class in ME3. It's power is not the issue. I'll even say manning each class equally popular shouldn't be a goal. Certain themes just are more popular having classes that fill in off themes so people who like less popular class concepts have a outlet is a good thing. It never will have the same draw but it's not supposed to. It just needs to exist for the people who don't like soldier or Mage or whatever.

You're right.  I did have more fun as an adept.  Maybe it was the sound of biotic explosions, but there was something more satisfying when detonating biotic combos and raising hell that having a drone pelt at the enemy cannot replicate for me.  Overload was a nice ability to strip shields or explode mechs, but that is the most visceral feeling of power in the kit as far as abilities goes, having drones or robot takeovers can't really compare.

But I'm sure there is a way to tweak the engineer in such a way that they can have a similar draw but with tech powers.  I am not kidding about lasers.  I like lasers, and want to see more lasers.  The engineer should have a combat laser blast like other classes have projectile blasts.

Now you might say there is no need to tweak anything, that it's OK that the engineer kit does not have the same draw, but to me that just means we need more flavors of engineers and tech powers that are an alternative to the drone heavy builds.  There should be a way to build a sort of tech mage instead of a space mage.  And lasers are a clear candidate.

Overall Sentinel, I love tech classes in general and adding some biotics seals the deal. Adding Inferno grenades as bonus means you can singlehandedly do all the combos in the game solo, and fast too since grenades don't trigger CD.

Ranking by game and fun factor I'd choose Sentinel in ME1, Engineer in ME2 and Sentinel in ME3.

Infiltrators have always been my favourite.  Really like how they became more diverse in ME3 with the Shotgun Infiltrator build.

I've always been a fan of the Engineer. Hoping they can do more with the Drone, maybe have more variants.

Wow, engineers getting almost no love, people must not like drones and turrets and stripping shields and armor/flesh incineration.

maybe bioware can give engineers an upgraded drone that fires a reaper laser.

My thing is that I love getting right in the enemy's face and blowing them away with an explosive ability, which is why Vanguard appeals to me so much. Biotic charge lets me zoom right into the thick of it. I love slamming into turrets and nova-bombing them and killing everyone around me at the same time. Just being able to destroy enemies is nice, but being able to do so like some sort of brawling maniac is right up my alley.

Take the easy way out. Play an adept use singularly to stagger people close on foot and blow crap up, up close and personal. Use decoy and drones to distract enemy fire and burninate up close in personal.

Sentinel is mine. I tend to lean towards the defensive/healing classes when they're available. I hated how Tech Armor looked tho, and their melee animation was garbage in ME3. So I might identify more with a Energy Drain Adept lol.

I've had maybe 20+ play throughs with ME and I never played an Engineer, Sentinel or Infiltrator. I need to fix that.

Unrelated: Wish we were getting a remastered ME trilogy. Bummer :(
