My very first Shepard was an Adept, and I had gone through a number of playthroughs before finally going on the Vanguard. There's just something about it that makes Shepard seem like a superhero out for blood.Take the easy way out. Play an adept use singularly to stagger people close on foot and blow crap up, up close and personal. Use decoy and drones to distract enemy fire and burninate up close in personal.
What is your favorite class archetype in the mass effect series

Adept.
The biotic boom is like sex.
Didn't like vanguard until ME3MP. Now I love it.
PS: Bioware, we need more cluster grenades in ME:A! Drell Adept was the best experience EVER.

Unrelated: Wish we were getting a remastered ME trilogy. Bummer
Me, too!!!
I roll my eyes at all the remastered games coming out because apparently creativity is dead. But I NEED Mass Effect Remastered on my awesome gaming PC... that I will buy eventually.

I like the remastered stuff. I'm not even sure where my PS3 is. Before uncharted 4 I'd like to replay the trilogy. This way I can without searching through piles of stuff for a old console. It's also a good way to bring new people into a existing franchise.

Oh, I get why people buy it. I personally wouldn't buy a game again even if I sold my old console. Unless it was Mass Effect, but that's... unhealthy obsession... however, I understand why other people might enjoy replaying any game on a new console, especially when the graphics hold up ok that way. It's just funny how the PS4, just like the PS3, had no cool games at release. But this time they tried to cover it up with all the remastered stuff.
I'm not trolling, honest.

My thing is that I love getting right in the enemy's face and blowing them away with an explosive ability, which is why Vanguard appeals to me so much. Biotic charge lets me zoom right into the thick of it. I love slamming into turrets and nova-bombing them and killing everyone around me at the same time. Just being able to destroy enemies is nice, but being able to do so like some sort of brawling maniac is right up my alley.
I do appreciate that people like you exist, for your kind are the type that soaks up the bullets and blunt trauma meant for me. Go forth my human shield, get in the thick of it, absorb those explosions and laser blasts.

Love vanguard. When it comes to fantasy, I've always been into the melee spellcaster archetype: the tankiness & fast, up close action of a melee fighter, with the flashy, stylish yet manipulative magical fireworks of spellcasters.
In a way, I feel like vanguards are Mass Effect's sci-fi answer to this sort of archetype. Fast, mobile, in your face, and armed with them funky biotic space magic slinging abilities. I'm weird and unpractical and like to arm my vangaurds w/ sniper rifles so that I can attend to any situation. I always have a need to feel flexible.

I didn't know I loved it too for the longest time. I used to prefer hanging way back, being a mage or archer in RPGs. Which was why Me2 combat was totally fine by me. Duck, shoot, duck. Melee scared me, stupid as that sounds. Probably because of my blood phobia. So the idea of getting close and personal for a kill was not appealing at all.
Then ME3 arrived. And it changed everything...
Well, to be correct, ME3MP did. I'm in love with Biotic Charge ever since. Novaguard is great fun. feeling so OP is addictive. Biotics are the best thing that ever happened to me in video games. Mages seem so boring now. Biotics is magic on steroids.

Hah. I've saved a few people from being stomped out of the round in MP here and there and it's always fun.

Lol. While I can't play one for s***, I appreciate that vanguards set up kills for me to steal.

One of the quickest moves to Interupt a sync kill is biotic charge. Go forth vanguard warriors and save me from my reckless behavior.

Started with Soldier on ME1 because I wanted the premade shepard look (it wouldn't let me change his class if I chose the cover look for him
) and then when I was able to change his class in the later games I felt like I was betraying who he really was so I stayed a Soldier through.
Which do you all think it's the hardest to play as? Personally I regretted being a soldier because I missed on cool moves like Warp and Lift but oh well maybe I can play as those next.

Infiltrator for me. I suck at using sniper rifles. I think soldier is one of the stronger options. You can now through enemies with little thought with a soldier, if I'm failing I wasn't aggressive enough.
. Really it's more play style based. How I play adepts makes them a harder class than a more traditional style.

I'm at my best with a sniper rifle in hand I'm not especially quick but I'm pretty damn accurate at range

I voted for Vanguard - it's always been my fave. Nothing like charging into battle with my trusty shotgun by my side! It's probably why I like playing mages with Fade Step in DA:I - it's the closest I can get to being a Vanguard on Thedas. ![]()

I love upgrading Fade Step so you can zip around a group of enemies and flash freeze them.

First adept, second vanguard. I prefer playing vanguard but I hope that they will add cutscenes based on your class and adepts will be as cool as in my head.

Yep, absolutely! And now that I think about it, even though mages don't have actual shotguns, they DO have fire-spewing pointy sticks.

Umm, you can choose any class and still keep the default face. Go to "Enter New ID" -> "Custom Male" and after choosing a class pick "Confirm Appearence" instead of "Change Appearence".

In Mass Effect 1 it was the infiltrator due to the fact that Shepard could hack locks and doors and that meant I wasn't forced to bring another characters, like Tali or Kaiden, on every mission.
Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 it was the soldier class due to the fact that I could carry pretty much every kind of gun I wanted (except for SMGs in ME2) and because the hacking was available to all classes I pretty much didn't have to rely on others to get what I wanted and go where I wanted.

But with only with guns it got boring very fast. I wasn't even a good to shoot so I needed to start over and switch a class. No I can play with my life and destroy my enemies in a crazy, close and super fast combats. I am going to try an engineer next I heard it is a pretty fun class too with lots of opportunities.
I am still not the best class builder. I rely heavily on my powers and I control my squadmates a lot because I need their powers too. I usually play in hardcore mode, some parts of the game in an insanity mode are giving me headaches.
