Dear Bioware:

Here is my wishlist for Andromeda. Thank you. I love you.

  1. Please keep percentages on how much you've found on each planet. That drove me NUTS in ME 1.
  2. I know this is a "fresh start" so to speak, but maybe a couple of easter eggs for players of the ME trilogy. A tiny wink to us who've neglected a lot of chores / errands playing these games would be so great.
  3. Please stick to your guns and Please keep including same-sex love interests as a choice, regardless of your intentions. You have no idea just how important that can be for people. As an aside, thank you for including that in the trilogy. Having not only a female hero who is treated equally and with respect (except with Harkin. F that guy.) and then having a female who is in a same-sex relationship still being treated equally - it just, no other game does that. Thank you. Keep same-sex male couples too.
  4. Keep close to the weapons system that was used in ME3. There were a ton of options, yet still not convoluted. ME1 was really messy, for a lack of a better term.

Thank you again for an awesome trilogy.

Don't you think that's rather indicative that they might be doing this sort of thing for the wrong reasons?

#3 presumes an awful lot about the exact nature of Bioware's intentions regarding same sex relationships.  Plus, do not rely on a videogame (or any other entertainment medium) to validate who you are.  Be proud regardless of others' thoughts.

Really thought this was a throw-away post. I only meant to thank them for a great series and my hopes for the future. I concede intent was not explicitly stated from Bioware, but it was controversial at the time. ME 2 they backed off a little, Liara doesn't give the paramour achievement / trophy but in ME 3 they seemed to offer more choices with Samantha Traynor and Liara, and on the boy's side Steve Cortez.

This is the only game I can mention that has not only an option for a strong female protagonist, not side kick, and have her in a same-sex relationship. The only other female hero I know of is Samus from Metroid. In the new Zelda game for the DS they flat out refuse to have anything other than male heroes.

I'm not a feminist by any stretch of the imagination. Also, I'm not going to believe that everyone was on board. But the point is it's there, regardless of intent, it means the world to me.

Also, I doubt that the topic is going to be resolved on the Bioware forums.
