For the love of JC, people who play with a Rouge who actively use stealth, stand beside a player who has been whaling on a enemy for the past 30 sec without lifting a finger to help kill said enemy and then try to kill steal, take note....

1. While in game go to stealth

2. Find a corner to go hide in

3. Chew out your own wrist

Despite the fact I usually go for my own kills and they take less than 3 seconds instead of 30, its kill helping! Lol my friends do this to each other. We actually get more exp in the end when this occurs too due to how the exp system is set-up via support exp, combos, etc.

 

Think of it this way, you're being rewarded for teamwork.

I would rather they "teamworked" somewhere else when I'm in need of health after being barraged by those 4 assassin's that magically appear at the same time that the bolter just turned that corner everyone was waiting for....

If you're getting overwhelmed, consider another position farther away from the enemy, out of line of sight. I have max defenses but even I jump for it to manipulate and control how the enemy flows towards me. I like to fight from the font room of FC whenever the group is dead/dying, and the run needs to be salvaged. Also when farming for exp at an easier pace. Bolters are much easier when they are seperated from everyone else running much faster toward you from across the map on Z4.

 

Granted, 4 assassins is just HoK food for me... but I could pop a Rock Armor anytime I like. Same for Bolters.

I generally try to kill key targets (like mages or ranged enemies when the rest of the party is mostly melee) .... That´s very easy with assassin and much more fun than standing around to wait for a killingblow....

 

Many do it for "I was never here" ... just use Flank Attack with upgrade so no need to kill-steal.

 

Besides your feelings should be with them ... if they have to wait until you bring down the health ... those assassins do too less damage

See, there's your problem. If you were able to get the enemy's health down faster, then the other player wouldn't have to wait in stealth so long in order to help you with the kill.

 

It's like you don't want us to get the 'Legendary Slayer' title. Don't be selfish.

There is no problem. There is only confusion. ...
I kill pretty quick when need be, and 2 hp's are at the ready when needed.

But answer this why in the Sam hell would you worry about how quick someone kills one enemy if you are a try hard and still don't get what you are looking for in end result ie. Not being on top of the score board, causing said player to go down and not get as much exp at the end...etc, etc ?

And as far as the legendary slayer thingy ... I could care less man... that is 3-4 months of straight grinding.... good luck with that

Let me see if I've got this right, you want your team to leave you alone to hack up an enemy so you can get a % of HoK?

 

All characters behave differently, but the aim of the game remains the same, to work together to get through the map & take down the enemy whilst keeping your team alive, if it is taking you 30 seconds to kill 1 enemy then, you probably should be grateful for any aid, if you're worried about your health then you have health potions if you've run out, then the faster the team clears the zone the faster you can get to the font between maps.

 

I do not understand anyone complaining about 'kill stealing' in a team game where you're supposed to work as one. Although you haven't mentioned the rouge that stands next to you in stealth I'd be willing to bet it's an Assassin & they're using deathblow, a move that is most effective when the target is below 50% health.

 

Just to close, instead of getting vexed with your team, think this, 'ok, more xp, getting stronger, closer to another promotion & higher defense, thank for the help.'

I could be mistaken, but I think Cirvante's comment was intended in a rather tongue in cheek fashion rather than as a commentary on the "ethics of kill stealing".  Who knows though, I could be wrong.

 

 

Haha, thank you for posting that snippet of conversation!  I never played using Sera because I found her to be irritating, but that was hilarious to hear Iron Bull complaining about kill stealing.

This is hilarious. I make one statement about kill stealing and it turns to this. Im pretty sure I have more than double the Willpower/promotions than the majority who have tried to jack this thread I started. So killing fast isn't the problem.

The problem is why would not use your stealth to kill a long range attacker or a enemy that is an immediate thread to you????

If a teammate is getting hammered by all means, deathblow the hell outta everything in that area to relieve them of being overwhelmed . Im sure this is a more team approach.

tbf, your original post wasn't really clear on what you were complaining about exactly.  To the average observer, it looks like you're purely complaining about 'kill stealing', not how people apparently don't target enemies who're a bigger threat.

Whenever I try out assassin in pug games, somehow I always group up with less than average teammates who cannot handle the heat when I am busy picking off targets. Then comes numerous revives, and finally 3 dead people with a room full of baddies for me to pick off. Screw that I am not wasting my time and I will just suicide. I really don't like playing the assassin.

Have you thought about that these people just saw you being on low health -hence your need for an HoK kick- and actually wanted to save you?

 

It may be short-sighted, but far from sinister. If I saw you being in the reds and fighting an enemy, I'd do the same without thinking, honestly.
