Having installed the new NVidia driver v385.50 I've been experiencing consistent issues with ambient light 'flicker'. For instance if I'm in the hallway leading to the War Room and I hold still looking at the two torches everything is fine but if I turn my POV the light will flicker briefly and if I look behind me towards the other end of the hall the small room with the single torch is the light will flicker and continues even if I move into the room. I would like to be able to record a 30 second gameplay video and upload it to demonstrate the problem but I don't know how. This problem doesn't stop me from playing the game but it is a minor annoyance.

Try rolling back to the previous driver and see if that fixes it.

I looked on the GeForce experience and the NVidia control panel and couldn't find a way to revert to my old drivers.

You roll-back drivers using the Windows Control Panel:

Good Luck!

Thank you Thandal that did the trick. I've reverted to driver v355.82(8/31/15) and the flickering has stopped. Of course now I can't update my drivers until if/when NVidia fixes the problem. The flickering happens any time I'm near a torch, either indoors or out. I'd still like to capture a video clip to demonstrate the problem so if anyone knows how to do that I would appreciate it. I'm now going to try reinstalling the new drivers to see if the problem persists.

I had the same problem and rolled back to the previous driver today. That fixed the flickering for me too. This problem was definitely caused by the new driver. Never had it before.

As for the video, try shadowplay.

You're right, it is the driver. I just reinstalled driver v358.50(sorry about the previous typos regarding the driver version) and the problem returned so I'm back to v355.82. I tried reporting the problem to NVidia but I haven't heard back. It would be nice if someone at Bioware contacted them. I'll learn about shadowplay and try to upload a video clip.

BTW my computer is:

CPU: i5-6600k

Motherboard: ASRock Z170 Gaming k6

Memory: 16gb DDR4-2666

GPU: PNY GTX970x2 SLI

Display: Acer XB240H

Okay I've used Shadowplay to record a short piece of gameplay to demonstrate the problem but I don't know how to paste it to a forum post. A little help please.

You'll need to upload it to YouTube or something then post the link here. Also don't hold your breathe from hearing back from NVIDIA.

If you want to upload your video to youtube you have to create an account first. Sign in with your account. Right at the top of the page there's an "Upload" button. Click on it and a new window will open. You can now drag'n'drop your video file here. Once the video is uploaded, you click on the "share"-button below the video window and copy the link.

I had this problem, in the Nvidia control panel I changed maximun pre rendered frames from 1 to the default setting, it helped. So if you have changed the maximum pre rendered frame- setting, change it back to default.

Got it. Here's a short video clip showing the flicker.

Yep, that's the same flickering that I've got. As I said, rolling back my driver fixed it for me. Still, I think it's a good thing that you told Nvidia about it.

The effect is quite spectacular in the Multiplayer Orlesian Chateau at night. In fact, anyone who finds strobe lighting unpleasant should avoid this. The cure of reverting to the previous driver release woked for me as well.

Good thing I read this before updating - just noticed I had the update waiting. Going to postpone updating for now.

Don't know if the OP, or anyone, has reported the problem to Nvidia yet, but I just did so, linking the video above and this thread.

If you don't want to roll back the driver, turning off MSAA in the Inquisition Graphics options should also work around this problem. At least it did for me. Post-processing AA isn't as nice, but you can run with that instead.
