You act as though your race actually mattered. It didn't in the end, minus a few sentences here or there. The dwarf noble was the biggest letdown in my opinion. The fact you couldn't challenge Behlen in the end was foolish.

It mattered to me and a few sentences here and there are fine. I find the nonhuman cultures of DA to be very interesting and something I want to be a part of. Being forced to be human as Hawke was a huge letdown. Besides, if race doesn't matter then why not make the next game Dwarf-only?

If it made sense, I'd be all for it. Customize their appearance and personality how you want. But give them an identity somewhat that's relevant. Commander Shepard comes to mind...

But you're telling me that a Carta dwarf was at the conclave? A dalish elf? What?? I think it's obvious they intended for Hawke to be the Inquisitor; if you recall, it was again going to be human only until they delayed it a year to give the race choices. These felt forced, especially in Inquisition.
