I never have problems with combat lines. The only combat period I hated was Citadel's Combat Simulation. We were be able to select our favorite squadmates and they were silent mostly. Gharrrrr......
Annoying recycled combat lines

I almost feel like a should start a Bioware please keep this and do it more thread for cliches and bad combat lines. People keep complaining and then they just take the mako away entirely instead of just fixing the handling..
I like recycled combat lines, its like a running gag it only gets more awesome the longer it goes. And clichés make the world go around.

I thought it was funny when I sent them falling to their deaths or they were screaming in pain while on fire.

It's fine when I'm playing with headphones but when using speakers I find myself turning the volume knob faster than a trick to avoid pissing off the neighbors. BTW, the final White, love it.

Go go go
Enemy is everywhere (eagerly waiting for corrections)
I liked the Phantoms' "wicka wicka". Scarier than banshees.

That's because phantoms are evil death ninjas and banshees are easily avoided annoying hit point sponges.

"My soup!" "Banana!" "Boshtet!"
Y'all need to play some MP.
I kind of miss the lines from ME2. In ME3, my buddies were mostly silent unless the lines were scripted during the mission.

They drove a friend of mine crazy in ME2, yea. I just tune them out... probably because I'm too busy trying not to die. *g*
And I really enjoyed the lines in DA2 after a companion went down. Pretty funny stuff. Even on repeat.
"Clearly I need to work on dodging." ![]()
"I am not cleaning this up." ![]()
Cracks me up every time.
A bit more variety couldn't hurt, though. Or maybe turn down the frequency at bit... except for bosh'tet. Tali can say that word as much as she likes. I love it!

No no no don't take those away. Even if they got repetitive (easy fix is to just record some more one liners) I'd prefer it to total silence. I like the feel of fighting aside soldiers with personality than plastic dolls. One of my favorites is Jack going "Flyyy b*tch!" every time she lifted someone
and hearing Garrus's amusingly cocky "One down!" is reassuring. Good to know your companions are actually killing things. They also voice things if their health is dropping low which adds more urgency and tells you to stop messing around.

I love the one liners, though I have to say I prefer them in ME3 where everyone has unique one liners because it makes it more believable for me. But also everytime Harbinger said "this hurts you..." was like a shot of adrenaline for me.

LTP and all that jazz. If the line gets repeated too often in the same fight you are taking too long. I'll give people the benefit of the doubt in ME1, on insanity it took forever to kill if they got off a invulnerability.

Sometimes it took longer to kill some enemies because they would hide in the maze of crates while yelling ENEMIES EVERYWHERE despite being the last person standing.

I like when a battle starts and Hawke says "can't we talk about this?" and Isabela's all "If we kill them we get their stuff!" Then there's Varric's "Bianca, you minx! That was beautiful!" and "Remind me never to get on our bad side. Seems to be....unhealthy".They drove a friend of mine crazy in ME2, yea. Imho DA:O was no slouch either with its battle ambient callouts (special procs to Zevran "We're ridiculously awesome!" and Alistair "Urgh, new tactic. Bite. Ankles.").

I didn't read the comments there until today. Damn, ME1 is getting demolished.
Honestly, I don't get what you people see in it.
It has no positives outside the lore. The characters are all terribly written until the sequel which did it a million times better. The pacing is the worst I've seen since Persona 3 FES. The music design is a joke, placing incredibly epic tracks in the middle of mundane sentences, often playing so loud you cant understand what people are saying, for example, the opening Anderson dialogue. The story is **** until the Reapers plot appears in the last 10% of the game. The level design is hilarious bad, making me laugh when ever someone says ME 1 did it better then both its sequels (which while more linear, didn't consider having a pointlessly large field or room as "Exploration"). The graphics are extremely poor but performance on both console and PC is terrible. The game constantly copy and pastes areas. The side quests are inexcusably awful but not doing them makes the later battles incredibly frustrating (level 20 final charge is a nightmare). Classes are extremely unbalanced outside of the Adept class, either being shite or over powered as **** throughout the game. Not to mention the game is way too long, with a never ending amount of padding of terrible combat and more terrible combat.
The sequels were better, and the only major issue with the fantastic ME 2 is that you gotta play ME 1 first to not get that "Playing someone elses game" feeling you get from using a preset or the storyline creator. The only good thing about ME 1 is how good the ending is, and the lore.
