What are the odds that Hawke could escape the Fade?

Basically what Weekes says is: it's up to you.

It's your story and you left Hawke (or the Warden) in a point where they could die or survive, so it's up to you to chose what happened with your character in your story.
Obviously, if they come out in DA4 saying that whoever was left in the Fade died, we'll have a answer that will go for everyone, but obviously it will never happened (if the person survived, we may see it in the following game. If the person died, it will simply never be mentioned).

My Hawke? My Hawke is alive and hopefully will find a way out of the Fade one day.

I expect the devs will never address it. They sent Hawke back to Kirkwall if they didn't die in Trespasser, which to me says they want them out of the picture. I don't think they plan on using Hawke again.

Works for me. Rylee Hawke deserves a gorram break, interrupted only by trolling Seneschal Bran and drinking and...other things with Izzy.

Really.

Even the Evanuris haven't succeeded in finding a way out and it's been hundreds of years since then.

But you know...they will.  Solas provides the precedent.  I like to think Hawke will escape the fade around the same time that the world of Thedas is building starships.

Imagine Hawke being the protagonist of ME:A

He's using shorthand, because he also said this to me:

https://twitter.com/...011030682583041

Weekes is basically saying "the never found the body", so anything is possible.

Never found the body

I don't exactly consider them alive, but I'm not going to trust that they're dead either.

Let's put it this way. No one found Duncan's body...and he's been confirmed to be for a long time.

On the flip side, no one found Maric's body, and he was explicitly stated to be dead by the writers, and he came back.

Hawke doesn't really exist. Hawke is a collection of pixels. There is nothing preventing them from bringing Hawke back if they want, there is nothing compelling them to use Hawke if they don't.

For the foreseeable future it's best to assume that whoever's stuck in the fade is dead, but the reality is that this is ultimately based on the whims of the writers.

This.

I don't think we're going to see a lot of old faces in the new Dragon Age. Dorian is the most obvious carry over, not sure on any others.

I think Solas MIGHT appear in DA4. :D

Hawke: "Corypheus is mine."

Inquisitor: "Hawke..." [leaves Hawke in the Fade]

--------------------------------------------------------

Inquisitor: "You wanted into the Fade? [sends Corypheus into the fade]

Corypheus: "AAaaaaaahhhhhhh!!"

--------------------------------------------------------

...if we leave a grey warden behind, Cory could come back. Just saying.

Duncan's a little different because if he had survived he would have shown up for the festivities at Denerim.  Thus the lack of evidence is evidence of absence.  With Hawke, even if they are alive in the Fade...well they're still in the Fade.  I'm not kidding when I say there's precedent for someone being there for a thousand years before they get out.  Do people age in the fade?  Is Solas still alive because he was a god, or because he could only start aging when he escaped?  And even if Hawke escaped before the ending of Trespasser (and they probably didn't)...there's still no particular reason why Hawke would step up and get involved in the tail-end of the Inquisition.  Hawke isn't that interested in saving the world.  They step up and play hero one last time because Corypheus was an old mistake of theirs.  Hawke would be very content to be officially dead by this point.

Confirmed death didn't seem to stop him from narrating my own funeral after the fact, so I'm not sure Duncan's the right guy to go to as an example of how death works. He clearly doesn't understand it himself.

I would think that Hawke!mage would survive just fine. Maybe not the other two though. Obviously it could go either way depending on the needs of the writers.

Ignoring that I left Alistair instead of Hawke (a templar should have a better chance considering that they are best against demons/mages); Hawke's chances of surviving and escaping are minimal.

Not only does Hawke have to survive the practically immortal and powerful Nightmare Demon on it's own turf, he also has to navigate the inhospitable environment of the Fade and somehow survive without nourishment of any kind until he happens upon a rift which he'd have to find a way to survive entering (since he doesn't have the Anchor) to come back into Thedas.

Given its Hawke the only way Hawke would make it out of the fade would by unleashing some sort doom upon the world and afterwords they would angst on how it was all their fault and their responsibility to deal with it and then DA4 protagonist would have to stop Hawke from making things even worse.

Solas was hibernating and feeding off the fade. He was a being who's body is already evolved around the fade. Hawke is not.

And we have no idea how Solas became what he was, or whether anyone else could do the same.
