Just carefully move with the group, turtle up nearby and do wild magic or whatever in the first move, Rings or whatever in the second, (really suggest Rings, it will make your job and everyone's nearby, much easier) and Barriers in the third. Any group that has a constant barrier generator should prioritize keeping you alive. The Sara has ton of potential to aid the team in more ways than barrier.

Don't be afraid to mix it up, and don't be afraid to fail! One or two failed runs will help you figure the whole thing out, slow it down a bit. Also, maybe see if there is some BSN'er on your system (I'm the Xbox One) who would be willing to help you out and show you the ropes. And have fun!

Yup, I have noticed when I stick with a group and keep them sped up and protected, anything that gets close to me seems to get priority.  Those that just sit at the door and spam barrier..... not so much.

So it appears you can complete both on either Peri or NM....

Agent Goal: Complete 10 matches on Perilous or Nightmare difficulty

Inquisition Goal:

PC/PS4/Xbox One: Complete 500 matches on Perilous or Nightmare difficulty

PS3/X360: Complete 250 matches on Perilous or Nightmare difficulty

As a nightmare virgin, do y'all think it would be acceptable (just for this challenge) to run Saara and camp in the font rooms? I have very few promotes, I think 20/26/22 maybe, but I do have Heart of Pride and barrier ring. I don't want to make the matches any harder with my constant death as I can't imagine that I can take a hit at NM level but I'd like to contribute if possible.

This would be a sweet name for a metal band.

Wow, if groups of 4 individual players played one game each, you'd only need a total of 2000 players to complete the challenge on newgen  But we all know people will play more than one. Really easy challenge, or depressingly small playerbase?

Awesome timing! I pulled a Heart of Pride from a chest last night, and I can now solo Perilous on my AW even though I have low promotions 26/21/28.

This staff is seriously insane. RNG loves to give me awesome staves. My first 20+ weapon was Yavanalis, which I got after just a few days of playing. Now I get Heart of Pride after a few weeks of playing.

Sorry I went OT. Hope to see you guys in Perilous this weekend! Thank you

I usually don't whine because im no pro and im only at 800something Prestige. Now I will whine. Sure this event has "forced" some new players to dip their toes in a difficulty that they never tried before so i have a bigger chance to share a laggy lobby with more than one person at a time. But why enter with a lvl5 char in his gray starting-jammys and get oneshoted by even the urns? And why do ppl have to rush and unlock every door? If you get your äss handed to you by a wolf what can you possibly do alone to a Arcane Horror? What? Why?

Whine over. Pls send hatemail and kitty pictures to my PSN: BrumBrum

PS4 yay!

Monumentally bad concept for a challenge weekend. Not everyone is anywhere near geared or skilled to handle Perilous. I can about handle it with a decent group, but just lost 3 out of 4 PUG matches in the 5th round which takes the wind out of everyone's sails. My gear is decent for 3 months worth of play, but my promotes are super low (high teens/low 20's.)

I wouldn't mind this as much if we weren't on week 4 out of 5 in an Agent Challenge as well. I'm only sitting at 4/10 so far, and while I'll probably grind this out over the weekend it's still a bad idea with a mixed player base.

Gee, what's next week, Nightmare? I will be hugely PO'd if that's what it winds up being.

Find a BSN'er to help! If you are on Xbox One I would gladly assist!

It's a mixed bag out there but one good player can make all the difference!

I'm not overly levelled esp. compared to the Promotion Lords.  But I just picked a class I could solo with (Silent Sister) and ignored anyone else who joined later.  If they were good it helped speed the process.  If they were bad, no harm on my part.

Play smart and it was pretty easy if more time consuming than other weeks.

PS4 finished a while ago... Hopefully these level 1/no promotes go  back to the routine hell hole from whence they came.

Have to agree.  Sure I can solo perilous but not on every class, so stuck only playing certain classes until its done.  That much I can take, there have been other challenges that limit the classes you can play so I can get over that much.  What bugs me is what having this challenge does to newer people.  They end up joining a perilous game when they are not ready.  It was bad enough before this weekend with leaches but now Im getting tired of seeing people with starter armor and no runes on their weapons in perilous matches. Teamwork is not supposed to be me killing everything while 3 people watch from the fade.

A PSA to all y'all just stepping into Perilous for the first time: upgrade your armor tiers!

I've seen a ridiculous number of people running around in the basic armor the last few hours. Go craft the higher tiers: it's the single biggest immediate upgrade to your survivability if you haven't already done so!

If you don't know how, here's a copied explanation:

Whole sets of armor may be crafted to unlock classes and to get higher tiers of each armor set. The way that it works is: if you don't have a class at all, the first time you craft their armor, you unlock that class. That then lets you craft variants of that outfit with higher armor values. It also unlocks a separate, higher tier of armor for that class, which has a different name. Once you craft that outfit, it unlocks variants of that higher tier, which have the highest of the crafted armor values. You can tell by the name: the variants have the same base names, just with added adjectives/nouns.

Let me use the Silent Sister as an example. Let's say you don't have her, you want to unlock the class. You would therefore go and craft the "Silent Sister's Cuirass." This unlocks the character, and you can play it. Now if you were to go back into the Armor Crafting menus, you'd see that you could craft four new armors for the Silent Sister: The "Silent Sister's Cuirass of Blood," the "Silent Sister's Cuirass of Bone," the "Silent Sister's Cuirass of Sinew," and the "Silent Sister's Proving Cuirass."

The various "Cuirass of [stuff]" armor are just color variants of your base outfit with higher armor values. Notice how the "Silent Sister's Proving Cuirass" has a different base name and costs slightly more materials to craft than the others. This is because it's considered a higher tier of armor. If you were to craft this and equip it, you would see that it actually changes the character's base model. Once you've crafted the "Proving Cuirass," it also unlocks the "Silent Sister's Proving Cuirass of [stuff]" armors to be crafted. Those cost even more crafting mats and are the same color variants, this time of the "Proving Cuirass" model. Most importantly, this last tier has the highest armor values that you can craft.

I think part of the issue there would be that low level players don't actually have a whole lot of mats available, particularly in the clotch department.

That's it exactly. The main problem with this sort of event is it leads to one of two things in most matches: either you're carrying others, or you yourself are being carried. Neither of which is an attractive prospect. I'll be first to admit, my lack of promotes makes me far more vulnerable than I ought to be, I have decent enough gear but my base stats are teh suq.

And I have no one to blame but myself. I've spent the last nearly 40 years having it drummed into my head that in level-based games (be it PnP tabletop games or computer RPG's) your level is associated with progress. I find it hard to get over the mental hurdle that when you promote, sure you're gaining a point in your base stats, but in other regards you're starting over. To us "old-schoolers" there's this dread that we're taking a big step backward. So I don't promote my toons anywhere near as often as I could (or, indeed should as this weekend bears out.)

Consequently, I'm losing more matches than I'm winning, which is maddening. I can't even find it in my heart to hold those in newbie gear responsible: they may have only just started a week or two ago, and simply don't have the money or resources to make the new armors. So if they want to participate in this week's challenge, they have to come along for the ride, basically croak the first time an urn looks at them funny, and then watch from the Fade as everyone else does their thing.

BioWare, next time you get the bright idea to base a challenge around difficulty-gated content, just..don't. Mmmkay?

I must be the only one here who actually like that they push people out of their comfort zones. Sure, some aren't ready and that can suck for the rest of us, but some need the nudge. It's basically what got me started in perilous the first time they did it. And gold in me3 for that matter. But yeah, let's not push it and go for the last two difficulties too.

Idk how you can say this is fair because everyone can do it. Some people have jobs. Just saying. I never understood why weekend challenges alone will get you on the leader board but hey whatever.

And older people don't promote? Wth? I know plenty of older players that would never play a lvl 20. Either way ps4 people ill actually be playin this weekend starting at like 5-6.
