And I'm not thinking of sour yellow notes.

I wanted to hear people's thoughts about the music in this trilogy. It's fantastic. To be honest, it's how I got into the game. I heard Jack Wall's theme on my Pandora, so eventually I watched part of a playthrough on YouTube. I was so impressed I actually bought a 360 console (no put-downs, please, PC Master Race) and the trilogy in the same order from Amazon. 8 playthroughts and 500 hours of multiplayer later, I haven't looked back. Point was, it was the music that originally pulled me in. It's superbly done (as is the sound).

The theme that blares through when Shepard brings the fleet back to Earth at the end of ME3 is one of my alarms; the music at the end of the Suicide Run is another. Both are killer (props to Clint Mansell). Christopher Lennertz's work on the ME2 DLCs is remarkable; the theme for Overlord, especially the haunting final conversation, is outstanding.

Anybody know any place where you can get text tones or ringtones of ME music or sounds? It's be kind of neat to have my text tone be the Blood Pack Executioner pistol sound, or maybe my "send message" be the sound of the Black Widow reloading (great sound clip!).

What music or sounds did you like? I haven't even started on the incredible voice alterations they did; consider the huskiness of the drell or that little echo effect for the turians or the neat little computer-noise of Legion's voice.

Mass Effect's music is generally amazing, even though it changes quite a bit from game to game. Apart from Sam Hulick and Jack Wall's work, I love Velasco and Dikiciyan's contributions. ME3's character creation music, "Reaper Chase" and "I'm Sorry" are among my favourite Mass Effect tracks :) on the whole, ME3's soundtrack is just incredible, though. And even an unoriginal song like M4 part II is forever imbued with a little magic due to the first game.

I don't think you'll find specific gun sounds like you mention, but for general text or ringtones there's this website. They have a lot of Mass Effect tunes, although an unfortunate amount are similar or even identical to each other.

Thanks! That's a start!

My favorite is when the Normandy uses the Omega 4 relay in ME2

I love all 3 soundtracks, but ME3 the most. It has everything, that cool electronic vibe, but also the orchestral part.

My favourites are An End Once And For All (seriously this still could make me cry most times when I listen to it, just trying to get my sh*t together to not let it happen :D), Uncharted/New Worlds (the song I could listen to for hours in a loop, so cool), I Was Lost Without You, Mars, Wake Up, Leaving Earth, Citadel Underbelly, The End Run/Suicide Mission, Samara's Theme.

Faunts's M4 Part II is one of the best ending songs ever.

The songs I absolutely love as well that are unfortunately not on the official OST are the ones where Thane dies and when shooting Mordin in the back. If interested, they are here:

Anybody know the name of the track that plays when Hacket boards the Normandy and gives his speech? It's a great speech, and I love that song; it's just right at being inspiring and patriotic and military without being loud and blaring (unlike the music with Shepard's final speech to the squad).

Thanks for all the answers, by the way!

I think that's Stand Strong, Stand Together.

You nailed it. Props, fraggle.

I'm so bummed I didn't get into Mass Effect until late 2013. I missed all the weekend events. Too bad they can't just have them on a rotating cycle now.

(The Stand Together name got me thinking about that banner in multiplayer, if you're wondering why the sudden jump in topics).

Awesome track. Thank you again, frags!

EDIT: Anybody know if this track is on the ME3 score? It's the music playing while Mordin sacrifices himself (singing the whole time) to cure the genophage. Be forewarned: if you're like me, you choke up just hearing it. What a hero he was, to go down fighting and singing. It had to be him. Someone else might have gotten it wrong.

Another one that is not on the soundtrack :(

It's really sad some tracks are not on it, but there are some clips floating around on youtube at least, so that's something :D There's a few tracks even for ME1 iirc, and music from the geth dreadnought in ME3 which was also never on the soundtrack.

For me, it's Infiltration. It plays sometimes during combat in ME2 and during Cerberus HQ in ME3. To me, it makes combat a little more, epic.

Also, the romance theme in ME2. It just sounds beautiful

I love all the soundtracks. They're all really quite different. I mean if I had to choose, I'm partial to ME2.

But "Proud of You" in ME3 when Shepard and Anderson sit side by side and look out into space ....god. That's like 1990's Spielberg sci-fi shivers.

The soundtracks are one of the best in video gaming. ME3 is probably my fav of the 3. With ME2 second.

The music adds so much to the game, so much emotion.

PS: Damn! Now hearing all this music I wanna run the series again.

Thank you for ruining my Life is strange playtrough. Now I only want to play Mass Effect series. Nothing beats these. Nothing. (I didn't remember Thane's dying music was so heavy. No wonder it felt like everything was moving very slowly.)
