The wiki lists Anora's last name as Therin with Mac Tir as a maiden name. I don't know if that's legitimate or just the assumption of whoever wrote the article, though.
What happened to Queen Anora?

Out of all the odd choices I have to wonder why does Calpernia have Queen anora's hair but Queen Anora doesn't have Queen Anora's hair?
Why was that choice made, exactly?
Because her husband(my Warden) asked to her to do so since he didn't like that hairstyle and she agreed to change hairstyle for her hero..

There is also the consideration that the Inquisitor stopped an assassination plot against Celene only two years prior perpetrated by Corypheus (carried out by Duchess Florianne). Gaspard brought armed mercs into the winter palace right under Celene's nose. The uneasy peace that's existed between Ferelden and Orlais is only 4 decades old, and Orlais is making rumblings trying to reclaim what they lost. Teagan is a lot more expendable than the King/Queen of Ferelden if negotiations go sour.
Being the expendable one sure is a crappy job. I dunno why they'd send someone with the uglies over to orlais though. Shoulda sent the pretty people~

I suspect it was also done to side step the question of which one of them to send if Anora and Alistair ruled jointly. You can't have them both show up because there'd be no legitimate reason to have both of them there. More people would probably want to see Alistair, but you'd have people crying foul that Anora was left behind because she was a woman(whether that was a legitimate reason or not) even though she's the more politically savvy of the two of them.
Sending Teagan avoids that head ache, along with saving them costs.

Alistair/Anora would probs send Anora because political savvy.
They did have to design Tegan though. Alistair/Anora are already done.

Same reason why qunari inquisitors can't have horns like Bull's. They want certain important NPC's to have unique and distinctive appearances.
So they give us 5 different guy hair styles for women or more? I didn't count but....face it, BW screwed over the PC's look. Without mods, they look terrible. Wonder who made that decision because it was a terrible one.

They screwed up on that one too. No one changes that drastically in 10 yrs. Teagan in DAO is so good looking as a character. Ten years later he looks like that. Doubt it.

Politicians age so fast it's shocking.

Doesn't matter how many years. It's completely unrealistic. Not unless he was in his 40s during DAO's time and smokes.

The wiki narrows down Teagan's birth to being either in late 8:90 or sometime in 8:91, so he would have been 39-40 during DAO, putting him in his mid 50s by Trespasser. Combine that with the stress of ruling a region that has suffered considerably, both during the blight and after, along with his family troubles - especially if you buy the theory that he's Connor's biological father - and it's no wonder he's looking as bad as he does.

McMichael (MD) puts it more bluntly. "There has been, for my entire life, this mythical connection between stress and hair. It's absolutely ridiculous." Thus it's DNA. baldness and graying. Even Eamon had hair....

Oh? where did this theory spring up from?
It's possible I guess. Isolde has the magic right? So Eamons next child being a mage still makes sense.

Dates back to Origins. Not based on a whole lot; Isolde's comments towards a female warden and Hawke are vaguely jealous, and Connor bears more resemblance to Teagan than he does to Eamon.
Of course, Connor's model wasn't unique(all the male children in Origins looked like that) and Eamon's features are heavily covered with a beard and age.
Also was largely based off the idea that Teagan was just too likeable of a person to exist in the Dragon Age universe, where everyone had realistic flaws and what not(except the Couslands). Teagan was pretty squeaky clean, so him having an affair with his brother's wife was a plausible way to humanize him.

Isolde was in DA:2?
Also Elanor, Bryce and Aldus were 2 pure. 2 Kind.
And Oren??? And...what was her name? I thought fergus' wife had a name but I can't remember it being spoken so I probably don't remember it.
nan was...nan though. But Dairen and Iona and...the other chick there? Landra? So pure. So kind.
So not over it. (lol though at someone being so kind a headcanon comes up to depurify them.)

She's in Mark of the Assassin as Teagan's guest if she's alive.
And yeah, the Cousland's are pretty perfect, but they all get slaughtered so that balances out.
Also, Fergus' wife was named Oriana.

Of right I remember now. Elanor says her name.
And I didn't play any of 2's DLC so my bad I guess.

Yeah, but he gets to live out the rest of his life knowing that he's the guy who told his son "you'll get to see a sword up close real soon" mere hours before his son was murdered.

Actually with a Prince-consort warden, where would he land on the line of succession?

He'd probably be next in line.
Eamon and Teagan might be able to push the marriage claim if Alistair(and therefore the Therins) is still in power - either with Anora or Queen Cousland - but age and a lack of heirs would take out Eamon from the running, and I imagine Fergus as being the more popular with the Landsmeet than Teagan.
Besides, from the looks of it I doubt Teagan would consider making a play for the throne.

BioWare messed up. But at least it will be included in the Super-duper Awesome Epic Edition coming out this Christmas.
But seriously, they completely messed up on Anora. They didn't even bother to program her texts to display Cousland as her last name even though they have a world state check for her marriage to the Cousland. She got a short crappy cameo in an optional mission that roughly half of all Heralds will bypass. Also, there was no reason for her to go to Redcliffe. It made no sense to walk into a hostile situation involving a Tevinter magister and cultists.
But if that made sense, then why not let her appear in Trespasser?
Pffft, if anything you should be taking her name. Or better yet, everybody keeps their own name.
On topic, Anora is "a solitary rose among brambles" and Celene would surely be disappointed if she didn't change her hairstyle once or twice in fifteen years. I'm just wondering where the greys are...

Considering her father at 60 and a Grey Warden (if alive in Inquisition) hasn't a single grey or even hair loss, I'd say Mac Tir's age well. She doubtless inherited this trait from her dad.
Teagan's brother looks like hell in Origins though he's only 45, he looks 60 or more. Probably Guerrin's just don't age well.
*Edit* Anora also likes politics. She was born and bred for this. Teagan however, hates them. It's aging him before his time.
