Just an opinion question...what are your thoughts?
What would Merrill say if she found out the truth about Solas and the elves?

She probably wouldn't believe him if he told her himself. Most people tend not to believe it when other people walk up and say "Hey, nice to meet you, I'm god."
Even if she did believe that Solas was Fen Harel, she's devout enough in her beliefs that she'd probably write off his claims as deception, as elven myth paints him as a deceiver and betrayer.

I'm fairly certain there's a reason varric doesn't tell her

I'm fairly certain that's the reason. Solas isn't fluffy enough to be a wolf.

I think it'll depend on how her personal quest was handled. She was obsessed with restoring a small part of Elven heritage with the Eluvian, willingly dealing with a demon to achieve that. At the end she either realises that the cost was too high and gives it up, or is convinced that her clan was wrong and continues on her own.
Now imagine somebody came along and said, hey I'm an ancient elf who has control over the entire Eluvian network and a head full of lost knowledge. And they intend to restore the elves to their ancient glory. It's not clear if Solas is informing his pawns that they're all going to be destroyed or if he's glossing over it. If it's the latter than the Inquisitor's claims could be easily dismissed as propaganda.
I think that Eluvian-destroying Merril would be more likely to balk at Solas' crusade while Eluvian-keeping Merrill would be inclined to support it. Especially if her Eluvian suddenly started working again thanks to somebody with the power to turn people in stone with the flash of his eyes.

Something tells me Merrill would believe him if she saw the records in the towers before meeting him. We got to remember she does not share the surpestition of the dalish. She is a believer, but she is no tool. I think that if she finds tangible truth about Solas first, she would believe him.

Merrill is a seeker of knowledge. She already has shown that she seeks the truth regardless of elven customs and rules. She defied her Keeper, used blood magic, was exiled from her clan, and all for the desire to find some truth of the past.
Pretty sure Solas could convince her easily enough with a small demonstration. I don't see her having a problem casting aside Dalish 'traditions' like she has already done many times to follow the truth.

She would believe him but I imagine that bit about everyone dying including her best friends and possible lover(Hawke) would most likely turn the entire conversation sour. No matter what level of knowledge Merrill isn't the type to sell out her only support for the last 10+ years

Merril is stupid, but if Solas say to her the Dalish tattoos are mark of slaves and that sort of things:
- Sure, you are a god, and i am the lady of the forest

"It is a Keeper's job to remember. Even the dangerous things."
I think she would be in shock at first, but she would come around. The Dalish have been stumbling around in the dark for centuries, trying to piece together their history from scraps of lore. Now, they finally have an idea of what the elvhan were truly like, as ugly as the truth may be.

This. Merrill forgot to feed herself, dealt with demons, and lost her clan (potentially permanently...) in pursuit of ancient elven knowledge. She's REALLY devoted to the idea of the ancient elves as a people, that that culture is the birthright of modern elves. She only decides the price is too high if you rival her.
That said, I don't think she'd go through with it in the end, regardless of friendship/rivalry. Solas makes it sound like "restoring" the elven people will result in the destruction of everyone else. Merrill has a lot of non-elven "everyones" in her life and I'd like to think her heart is too big to stand back and watch them get... murderized. Plus, he's the Dread Wolf, and Keepers have this whole thing about not being deceived by his machinations.

I'm dubious about whether they will all be destroyed. He's being awfully vague about the details.
