Same could be said about Inquisition with all of those mindless and meaningless fetch quests, and gathering up so many plants, rocks, Shards and bottles.

The writing was extra bad considering the fact that I seem to remember hearing nothing but repeated lines coming from the Orlesian soldiers in the exhaled plains.

Origins had its fair share of mindless quests too. Chanters Board etc are full of "go here, kill random monster", " collect items", "make potion" type quests. I don't really consider that bad writing in either game anyway. It's just side content you can choose to do if you want some extra experience.

We need an antagonist like Gaunter O'Dim from the new Witcher 3 DLC. Although he represents only the classic devil, he is better than the bad guys in DA.

Be careful what you wish for...

When you say

Replying to Dragon Age Orgins and Dragon Age 2 is a better game than Inquistion.

I assume you are referring to the storyline not the graphics or mechanics of the game? DAO did have an excellent story although personally I prefer DAI's depth.

DA2 was Hawk's personally story, so did not have much breadth; guess how you feel about DA2 depends on whether you like Hawk or not. Sometimes a personal story can be just as good as a world spanning epic.

That's because Cory was never the true villain.

This guy is.

So what you are saying is that DA:I is pointless. And stopping Cory wasn't important at all. Because of this guy...

Those kind of quests were few, though. Compared to in DA:I, where they are the bulk of the game.

But Origins was so sloooooooooooooow...

(and some of the writing was baaaaaad.....)

Compared to DA:I in which the plot isn't advancing for 90% of the game, and ALL the writing was mishandled?

They definitely weren't few. Inquisition probably has more, but in both cases they are side content you don't have to do if you don't like.

I disagree on writing being mishandled. I think all the companions were done much better than in Origins, and I prefer the main quests in Inquisition a lot more than Origins. Cory kinda sucks, but he was still enjoyable for me, whilst I thought Loghain was both poor and boring.

You don't have to spend 90% of your time doing side content if you don't enjoy it.

Not nearly as slow enough to be a master piece. If it is not turn based 0% action it is not good. DAO was too much action. DA2 was so actiony it was barely bearable. DAI is just mario with swords, daggers and staves, even Super Mario RPG on SNES was less Mario than DAI. If combat was a little better I would say it is Devil May Cry but since combat is pointless it is just Mario, since all we do is jumping, collect stars (shards) and make useless easy puzzles, ones that make Mario's look like doctor stuff. BTW calling a game Mario or Devil May Cry is an offense, it is the worst thing I could call anything, action is like worse than retarded, stupid, cancer, putrid, and so on.
Storywise it is not that bad, but story is pointless when you have to play Mario between the scenes, you can just skip it and watch on youtube by now all options and paths are covered.

Mechanics in DAO are the best Bioware ever made and since they are not returning to slow heavy stat based combat and non combat skills DAO will always be their masterpiece. DAI is a MMO pure equipment action based sh*t

I just finished the main game (not dlc) and donething i would have lloke in dai that origins did was

You take your final group to fight the big bad and they have a mini battle for the rest. First time i play origins i was stunned that the rest of the gang had to defend the gate. Would have been a cool feature to see the others fight in the wilds

But if Corypheus wasn't stopped, Thedas would be destroyed and everyone would be dead or slaves. It's certainly a bigger impact than stopping the Collectors.

DA:O and Dragon Age 2 is a game.

Ooh, a screenshot of the mage origin. That was my very first impression of the whole franchise, and that was "Oh lord these outfits are baaaaaaaaaaad"

To be fair, a lot of Inquisitions outfits are pretty terrible too. Fashion design is clearly not one of Bioware's strong suits.

I love returning to an old game connected to a longer series, knowing what I know now. It makes it fun, exciting, feels kind of new again and you know more! I think both DAO and DA2 help clarify many things in DAI as well as set them up. Are they better than DAI? Some parts yes, other parts no and all 3 games played back-to-back make for the most epic story I've ever played. After I complete my perfect DAI PT I will be playing Origins and DA2 again. My fav thing about DA2 is you can see it all falling into place and preparing you for DAI!

A lot of it is hit-or-miss, but I didn't find anything particularly offense aside from the warrior's aluminum-foil armor and the jammies.

On the other hand, most stuff in Origins makes me angry.

Great post!

Thanks for clearly outlining key differences, not only in the base story itself, but the plot lines, quality of the V/O used to orchestrate the plot/story and all the tie ins!

-9000/10!

Would definitely not read another post you make!

Your sarcasm is over 9000!

I'm just saying that The archdemon and Knight-Commander Meredith are far better antagonist than the pruned up tainted Darkspawn.

I love the archdemon fight. DA2 not so much. Meredith was just a crazy lady. If you like DA2 great. I played it only once. DAI I played multiple times and enjoyed the game.

I never had a problem with the Chanters Board side quest. In fact IMO it brings in more life into the game considering the fact that most of it includes fighting off enemies that endangers other people.

In that respect I salute the Chantry for stepping in, and doing their part into protecting innocent citizens from being a victim of ruthless criminals or being mauled to death by bears, and so on.

The meaningless fetch quests in Inquisition serves no true purpose other than to waste precious time.

Everyone should fight Corpyheus in DA2. He's a true villain fight in that one!

They build the Inquisition's power and influence and many of them have practical applications within the world.  Finding meat and blankets for people to survive a desperate situation, bringing solace to war torn soldiers.  Etc.

I always thought bringing back Corypheus and Hawke was a cheap way to get people to purchase legacy DLC.

Bioware/EA should be giving this DLC away instead of selling it. It should be apart of the main story of DA 2 instead of an additional story DLC.

I'm not a fan of the eight buttons. I also think we should be able to switch weapons in battle. DAO did shine because you were able to set the stats just the was you wanted it.

DAI is setup more for an MMO. I still like the go anywhere and do whatever you want setup of DAI.
