I've recently started putting some time into DA:I again and am seeing these little icons above my focus bars (one looks like my spirit blade icon.) . I can't remember seeing them before and have NO idea what they represent!
Any help?

They represent various effects your character has on them. The Spirit Blade one is part of the overhaul that ability got with Trespasser - whenever you use another attack or spell, you build up charges for your SB (indicated by the number on the symbol above the focus bar), then, when you use Spirit Blade, you consume half the charges you have and get bonus damage based on the number consumed. One of the upgrades changes it so that you use all the charges at once, but it charges up quicker.
