Volus adept AKA biotic God for squad mate.

Volus are one of my favorite things in multiplayer. They have hands so they can have a gun and they will travel.
While the merc is my favorite. Drone, decoy and a shield boost. A biotic God(stasis, biotic orbs, shield boost)would just be too fun and a nice Easter egg.
Side note gameplay wise I dig biotic orb style powers. Don't know if that style showed up as a bonus power but in mp there are a few powers like this. You activate it, it creates 3-4 artifacts on or around your character. They have a passive benefit which the more active orbs you have the better it is. And they can be fired as weapons.(no real cooldown on firing). You can't reload until you've fired all your shots. It creates a interesting dynamic.

That would be great. I only used a Volus once on Multiplayer, but it was really fun to play as the 'Biotic God' himself..
Maybe we will also be able to see the Raloi, as mentioned in the news stories in Mass Effect 3. They sound similar to Voli (A better plural than Voluses) and that would be quite interesting.

I think a Volus squadmate could be fun.

Volus are so cute, I wish they could be a squadmate just for fun.
Maybe a Volus experiment to create the biotic Volus god that succeeds and shepard saves him from the lab.
And then we go to that Volus to teach us the secrets of being a biotic GOD!

I would prefer other species prior to volus...geth, drell, salarian, turian, asari, batarian, quarian, krogan, human.
All of a sudden we're at the point where BioWare says we can't have more squadmates because ME2 had too many.
It's a fine jest in ME3MP--volus taking up arms and defending the galaxy, how droll--when we know in the lore that the instant something bypasses their shields and damages health they experience explosive decompression and their guts are painting the walls. Do not pass go, do not bother with medigel. But it's fine, because volus are amusing!

... with a jet pack!
Self-propelled cannonball.
(yes, yes, there's the vanguard for that - but hey)

The Volus are no less in danger of immediate death than the Quarians, who are also reliant on their suits for survival. If a Quarian squadmate could work, so could a Volus.
Besides humans are just as much in danger of dying from a single suit puncture on many words. Most of those uncharted worlds in ME1 would have been instant death for Shepard even if he/she suffered a minor wound.
The Volus are described as being less physically adept than other species when on planets that don't match the enviroment of Irune, but that can be handwaved by a Volus squadmate having heavy muscle weave, synthetic bone weave, ect. Make him or her have some synthetic upgrades and s/he's good.

Could use the Volus as a bowling ball to roll down a hill or something rolling over the enemy killing them. haha
I wouldn't mind having a Volus for a squadmate. I would like it to be Barla Von.

Yeah, they are in a lot more danger. A quarian first has to catch a disease or get an infection, then take days to weeks to die, assuming that in the meantime they can't be saved by the medical technology in universe (which happens to both Reegar and Tali when they're shot, at least twice in the latter's case). As long as the planet they are on is an oxygen-hydrogen atmosphere in the appropriate temperature and pressure range (around 1000 mbar), they aren't in any more risk of "immediate death" than any other species, and if it isn't those conditions, every species has much more important things to worry about than diseases should an irreparable EVA suit puncture happen.
However volus suits are pressurized to 60.55 Earth atmospheres, and the species itself breathes ammonia. Due to the massive pressure differences it would be similar to sudden vaccum exposure in terms of the response of the free gasses trapped within both the suit and the tissues, resulting in almost immediate decompression, blackout and death following in seconds to a minute or two from the Volus equivalent of hypoxia (hypammonia?). Unless you can afford another Lazarus project to put their destroyed brain back together every time your volus gets hit with shields down, s/he is going to be SOL.
However, that's not really an issue as far as a squadmate is concered in such a fantastical universe as this one. Volus combatants really don't make a whole lot of scientific sense, but is handwaved with highly advanced power armor IIRC. It's one of those lore things that the MP team didn't really think through (see also the Alliance's entire army of unshackled AI controlled infiltrator mechs).

Squad member or no, I'd like to have a volus on the ship. My ideal setup would be that the volus has his own quarters that simulate the environment of his homeworld behind an airlock and we have to wear a suit to go in.
That'd be cool.
I've been advocating a volus for our pilot, personally.

I agree a separate quarters simulating a their natural habitat would be awesome.

That could be their version of biotic charge, tucking in their limbs and hurtling at their enemies. Nova could be them popping up again and saying 'I CAME IN LIKE A WRECKING BALL!'

Niftu Cal is too powerful to be unleashed on Andromeda.
Another Volus on the Squad or, at the very least, in the ship's crew would be pretty cool.

Well, if you look at the thread talking about the time frame, there may be a problem :
After all, it look like the Ark will have only turians, asaris, salarians and humans.
Quarian : In war and can be genocided.
Geth : In war and can be genocided.
Batarian : Genocided.
Drell : Genocided.
Hanars : Genocided.
Vortcha : Plague so left behind.
Krogans : Plague so left behind.
Batarian : Genocided.
Will there be room for Volus? I'm not sure...

Who financed the ARK plan. That's right, the volus. The council race clans need volus money, organization and gumption. Volus #2 right after Humanity #1.. Kick the turians to the curb, for a warrior race they did a crap job dealing with humans when the humans had less numbers, weaker weapons and a worse position. They are just a uglier, weaker human. We don't need that kind of redundancy, Volus takes the lace of pathetic turians on the Ark and on the council bringing an entirely new skill set and outlook.

On the ship, as a squad member? God NO!
However, used on a fighter (x-wing style) instead of a droid. I could deal with that.

I refuse to believe Bioware would be stupid enough to throw away most of the races of Mass Effect as well as all the locations and possibly the lore.
