I tend to agree about the Turians. Besides they kind of took the brunt of the reaper attack and being a dextro-DNA race just complicates things when looking for a suitable planet. They require special food and stuff like that. So let the Volus take their place. I'm sure we'll find a world with an ammonia atmosphere for them.

I think the Volus are just largely taken as comic relief.   You run into a volus occasionally as a means to break the seriousness of a situation.    Having one around all the time will likely turn stale at best.

I refuse to believe Bioware would be stupid enough to throw away most of the races of Mass Effect as well as all the locations and possibly the lore.

To go even further I see no reason for Bioware to get rid of any of the races, period.  I would hope they'd be smart enough to give themselves maximum flexibility in their storytelling moving forward.  You wouldn't need to show every race in MEA, just a sentence or two of dialogue stating that at least a few members of every species made it onto the Ark.  Even in the case of the Geth-Quarian conflict it's doubtful either species was wiped out to the last being regardless of Shepard's decision...though it might be harder to explain the presence of the Geth in Andromeda if they were all but wiped out...still it could be done.

No.

ME3 multiplayer lost all credibility as part of the lore when they included those limbed bowling balls, even more so when they included the 'awakened' Collectors. I cant stand the hand waving of the established lore, simply for some rule of cool fun.

As squaddies go, there's a hell of a lot more I'd rather see. A Batarian, a female Turian, a Vorcha, fully sentient Geth. Damn it, a battle ready Elcor or Rachni drone would be more believable watching my back than those space faring Stevie Kenarbans.

You wanna include fighting Volus? Have them pop when shot, like the gas bags from Eden Prime. That would be glorious.

I thought I was the only one thinking that. I know they're small and kinda cute... reminds me of badgers, really... but the breathing. It sounds like they're choking and listening it actually gives me a choking feeling. I always use the skip option in game when talking to any of them.

I'm not sure how Volus break the lore.  I don't remember any lore about them being incapable of fighting, just not being able to field large numbers of units and forces.

I agree on the collector adept, and heck a lot of the new powers like shadow strike, the furies teleport through walls crap etc.  But as far as I can tell volus are lore friendly. There suits and problems with that is adequately reflected by their incredibly low health scores.
