Every time I hear the words "Avvar" and "Nightmare" in the same sentence, it's about how terrible he is, especially against Qunari. This has always baffled me, because from my perspective, Qunari are a cake-walk with the Avvar. All you need to know are what elements enemies are immune to and how to hide behind walls.
Here is a list of all the Qunari's invulnerabilities (that an Avvar would have to worry about):
- Ben-Hassrath Agent: None
- Qunari Spearmen: Ice
- Ben-Hassrath Assassin: None
- Qunari Shock Trooper: Fire and Ice
- Qunari Defender: Fire
- Saarebas: None
- Qunari Commander: None
As you can see, only two enemies are invulnerable to ice, and only two are invulnerable to fire, while nothing is invulnerable to electricity. What should you take away from this?
- Lady's Wrath is your best friend!
- Don't waste Hakkon's Charge on Spearmen (unless you are just trying to go bowling) or Shock Troopers.
- Don't waste Crushing Leap on Defenders or Shock Troopers (unless there are plenty of other enemies around, like Spearmen, Agents, Assassins, etc.)
Without further ado...
Yeah, I know. Most people can't do this because promotions and whatever, but that's what a team is for. If I can easily solo Qunari with a level 12 Avvar on Nightmare (sorry, is my e-peen showing?), then obviously he can be helpful in a team environment.
P.S. If you have an Amulet of Physical Immunity, you might want to equip it.
