Hi, i began to play the multiplayer missions on PS4 and noticed that some lvl 1 chars can single handedly kill all the enemies on harder difficulties without ever getting touched, with all the high abilities you normally only get later on.

Since there is not even a basic hint on why this is happening, i assume they are all cheating?

Whats the sense in playing it when i hardly can survive with lvl 20 on threatening and others run through it like gods with lvl 1?

Best,

lio

Promotions and gear.  You start the game with 10 con, 10 willpower and 10 cunning and crappy weapons and armor. Many of us have been playing a long time and have promoted our characters over and over and have stats well over 100 in each category.  Those on top of the leader boards have several hundred of each.  As you buy chests you get better stuff and make stronger armor.

Cunning makes you crit more often and reduces ranged damage taken

Willpower gives you more damage and reduces magic damage taken

Constitution gives you more HP and reduced melee damage taken.

Thats the short version.

This is the long version

They're also probably not running around with highland dirks or other noobsauce equipment we were stuck with when we started out.

It's called promotion. Play 24/7 for a full year and you'll get there, friend.

This cant be serious.

Ok i promoted my lvl 20 char because he couldnt get more lvls. And i got 1 !?!? Willpower? Haha... what kind of multiplayer is this? What is the goal? "Who can waste the most time with repetitive missions?" Isnt that the most boring thing you all did in a videogame ever?

I wont play these few levels a thousand times over and over again, i just dont have the time to waste. Sorry Bioware, that is the worst ive ever seen in a multiplayer.

Thank you all guys for your explaination, you are very nice.

But i m afraid i will never ever play this multiplayer again and stick to singleplayer. It was more fun when i didnt know how it worked :)

You have a good time. :)

Promotions go much faster as you get more of them.  Starting out is very slow.

That got weird quick. Imagine their response to the game and the inherent grind if it wasn't double EXP weekend.

As for the abilities, as others have mentioned, gear is another factor. There are weapons that have built in abilities so my Silent Sister (Rogue Warrior Dwarf) can use Chain Lightning.

And this multiplayer really favors those who have played the longest. You haven't even heard the worst part of how terrible progression in this game is. There are weapons that are locked away from you until you reach an arbitrary number of items gotten. That's right so even if you pull a unique card from a box there are uniques you simply cannot get until you reach the appropriate hidden item level. Certain items are locked behind different item levels.

DAIMP is dying and the devs have left. As much as people here would like to see new players play the game, best to stay out at this point...
