So there the two books of poetry in Hawkes room written by a "Ferelden refugee".  Sure there are a lot of Ferelden Refugees.  But it's suspicious that the poet doesn't have a name.

It can hardly be Garrett/Marian Hawke since the codex says that the writer was female, regardless of the gender that the player picked. It might be Bethany, the Far Cliffs of Kirkwall describe her dreams of a new start not her experience. So it would still count even if she was turned into mush. Of course if she is turned into mush then in gameplay terms it was just a few seconds after she heard where they were planning to go, but time plays differently for the character and the player.

I suppose it could also be Leandra, but if it was a Hawke, I would bet on Bethany, she's probably got a poets soul, somewhere deep beneath her non combative attitude.

Or it might be someone else. Maybe Allison, if she chickened out and fled Lothering.

The only poetry Hawke writes is the screams of her victims.

Hawk is a bird, not a poet.

Well I'm on my first playthrough and it's as a female Hawke (because those bulging muscles are weird on a ST 10 mage).  Bethany didn't really have time to write poetry about Kirkwall.  But I guess it'll be Bethany if I do a male runthrough

To have Bethany you have to play as a rogue or warrior whenever you play as a mage you'll always have Carver as your sibling partner in the game. It has nothing to do with if your playing male/female but what class you've chosen.

Back on topic though based on what I know of Bethany she seems the poet type. So of all of Hawke's family I think she'd be the most likely.
